**** AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE **** Good afternoon friends and thanks for tuning in to see if there’s been anything happening surf wise here in Bali today . Well yesterday I was thinking today would infact be a lay day surfwise and that’s pretty much how it has panned out. Surfwise its pretty small out there along both sides of the island . Here in Tuban the Outer Reefs were only just breaking at half a foot on the bigger set waves and that was while the tide was on the bottom of the Low. I’ve had reports in saying that even down at Nusa Dua wave height was only just in the waist high range. Keramas is even smaller at knee to waist high . And to make it worse this morning there was no wind making surfing conditions ultra clean and glassy at every location on the island. Tomorrow is looking pretty much the same swell wise but if conditions are the same I’ll be taking the boys at Home Base down for their first look at Uluwatu .
Weather wise it’s a beautiful day out there for the folks on holiday. Right now at 2.00pm the wind is coming outta the West @ 4-6knot and the temperature sitting around the 29 degree Celsius mark.
Swell Prediction ; Well after keeping a close eye on all the weather and swell prediction sites for the Indian Ocean there’s still no real swell in view for us. What has been happening down in the Indian is nothing but big High pressure cells blocking and spinning away any swell producing Low pressure cells. So really all we can ecpect is more of the similar sized waves we have had over the last week again for the next week ahead of us. I do hope I’m wrong.
Email Abuse dept : I just though I’d let you real surfers know what goes on everytime I introduce a different surfing location to ya’s. Ok, last week I gave ya’s a glimpse at a well know wave over on the east Coast called “Secrets” at Padang Galak. I tell you this location is no secret and I first surfed it with other westerners and Japanese surfers well over a decade ago. It’s mentioned in all the surf guide books, and listed on all the Bali surfing web sites. But there’s always one selfish bastard out there who thinks it’s their personal wave and doesn’t want any of you surfing there. And the selfish bastard is always an expat thinking they are a local. I won’t name this guy this time but maybe I’m going to set up a new “selfish surfer” shame page next time. It’s only because I get a good laugh outta these types that I haven’t done it yet. I tell ya’s I’ve been given the credit for over crowding just about every wave in Bali . From Kuta Reef to Uluwatu on the West Coast and Nusa Dua to Keramas over on the East side.
Well Thanks to all the kind hearted folks that have helped us improve the conditions up at the Datah Primary School ! We are making some real progress with the objectives we made, so make sure you check out our progress at the school via the “SCHOOL PROJECT” page over on the menue bar .
