**** AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE **** Howdy crew and time for the run down on todays surfing and weather conditions here in Bali . Well early this morning the day started off with some radical thunder and lightning. So by the time I got down to the beach for the surf recon it was already 7.45am . The wind was coming outta the WNW and on-shore @ 4-8knot . Wave height on the Outer`Reefs was still only showing in the 1-1ft+ range .
So I rounded up the lads staying here at Home Base and we headed for Green Bowl down on the South Eastern end of the island . There wasn’t really a lot happening there except for the antics of many many monkeys playing around in the tree’d close by. Wave height at GB’s was slightly bigger @ 1-2ft+. From there we headed straight up to Nusa Dua and that’s where we decided on getting in the water for a paddle. Wave height at ND was slightly bigger again at 2-3ft+. Surfing conditions were clean and tidy with the off-shore wind. Ok then not too much happening around the island surfwise but still plenty of fun sized waves for the holiday crew. Tomorrow we are going to be doing another road trip to another location and I’ll have some more photos for ya’s. Scott has also been sending us some Readers Reports from Australia, so check out what Scotto has been upta before ya check outta here.
Weather wise like I said we had a pretty rough start to the day with thunder and lightning storms followed by some heavy rain. But after that there’s been nothing but blue sky and sunshine. Warm to very hot over on the beach at Nusa Dua and plenty of hot scenery to go with it.
Swell Prediction; There’s still not much happening swell wise down in the Indian Ocean. Well not for this part of the Indian anyway. We are still under the influence of High Pressure Cells, causing the dreaded “yo-yo effect” on our wave height. But over on the south western part of the Indian there’s plenty o action from two Tropical Cyclone’s spinning over the last week. What we can expect over the next 7 day period is… more small but possibly fun sized waves ranging from 1-4ft+ depending on location. Head South for the best waves !
Well Thanks to all the kind hearted folks that have helped us improve the conditions up at the Datah Primary School ! We are making some real progress with the objectives we made, so make sure you check out our progress at the school via the “SCHOOL PROJECT” page over on the menue bar .
