**** AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE **** Hello surfers and thanks for tuning into the baliwaves.com for your daily dose of surf and weather info and not too mention getting to see whats on offer at all the different locations that our Bali has on offer to the touring surfer. Ok today started of pretty much the same as usual with the crew staying here at Home Base loading up the rental and making tracks up the West Coast of Bali to Balian . As ya’s can se in the first 6 photos I loaded up there was some real nice waves breaking in the 2-4ft range . Wind direction was blowing straight off-shore outta the North @ 1-4knot with the tide on the rise. It’s not the first time I’ve been at Balian but it is the first time I’m showing you guys.
Balian is a river mouth set up with some long left handers breaking on the Northern side of the river and a series of right handers breaking on the Southern side. Our crew hang out at Balian until around 10.30am then we decided to head another 30minutes up the coast to check out Medewi (pics 7-10). The wind had already started to swing on-shore outta the West but surfing conditions were still clean enough for another paddle. Wave height was a bit smaller at Medewi but still in the head high class and peeling off left handers for 50 – 70yrds . The boys from HB Bali were all stoked with the waves we had today so after a feed the beach side café we loaded up our boards and made the slow traffic filled journey back to Home Base in Tuban .
Weather wise along Bali’s West Coast today was made to order for the holidaying surfer, loads of blue sky with the temperature pushing into the low 30’s on the Celsius scale. It wasn’t until later this afternoon around 4.30pm that the sky started to cloud up with a big chance of some over night rain to fall.
Swell Prediction , and things are looking much more positive over the next 7 day period indeed. At the moment we have a tight Low Pressure Cell down in the Indian Ocean and it’s being funelled up to us from the aid of a High Pressure Cell on each side of it. Wave height should continue to hold in over the next day or so before dropping off slowly. But by next Friday we should see some solid swell belting the reefs and beachs around Bali that should go right through the weekend.
Well Thanks to all the kind hearted folks that have helped us improve the conditions up at the Datah Primary School ! We are making some real progress with the objectives we made, so make sure you check out our progress at the school via the “SCHOOL PROJECT” page over on the menue bar .
