**** MIDDAY SURF UP-DATE **** Hello crew and thanks for dropping by the baliwaves.com for the daily surf and weather rundown. Well things are looking a little better surf and weather wise today. My 6.15am surf check of the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was showing some fun looking 2-3ft+ waves breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left .
The tide was just starting to run back in for a 2.6mtr High set for midday and the wind was blowing light off-shore outta the ENE @ 1.3knot . No surfers were in the water at that time but I’m sure there woulda been towards mid morning.
Our crew from here at Home Base loaded up the rental and decided on taking a look down at Uluwatu where we knew we would get a little more size and power for our dollar. We hit the scene at Ulu around 8.30 to find around 20 surfers in the water and wave height in the 3-5ft range (as ya’s can see in these latest photos outta Indo).
The best waves were hitting the Main Peak and Temple sections and surfing conditions were clean and tidy and the wind all but off-shore. By the time I packed up at 11.30am the tide was just to full but there was big promise of some afternoon tube rides on the Racetrack on the lower end of a 0.2mtr Low tide. The crowd by that time woulda been peaking around the 40 mark.
Weather wise there was a bit of cloud hanging about but by mid morning nothing but blue sky and a warm to very hot midday sun.
There’s also some new photos and surf reports from the good people up at the KANDUI SURF RESORT of the MENTAWAI ISLANDS under our report menue. Here’s another tip for any of you digital photographers heading to Bali .
