**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Good morning folks and welcome back to the baliwaves.com for the only daily 7/7 surf and weather report on the net . And the start of another surfing week here on the happy little holiday island of Bali .
I was up early this morning and down doing the surf recon of the Outer Reefs at 6.00am . Unfortunately wave height has backed off this morning and only breaking in the 1-2ft+ range between Kuta Reef and Airport left. First up the wind was cranking outta the ESE @ 15knot+ but since sun rise it has moderated back to around 5-8knot strength . The first of our tides today is going to be a 1.1mtr Low around 9.00am then she’ll be running back in for a 1.8mtr High @ 3.0pm .
It’s not looking real tempting out there this morning but suppose there will still be a few waist high plus waves hitting Middle Reef through the lower end of the tide and maybe” ” Airport ” Left will have similar stuff happening when the tide starts to push back in around mid morning. Later this afternoon you’d also be able to take your pick of beach breaks up along the Kuta to Legian stretch of sand. Me, as soon as I get this stuff ready and on line I’m going to grab the camera equipment and head south for Uluwatu. Hopefully there will still be a few head to head high plus waves for us down there.
So for now get some work done and make sure ya call back later this afternoon if ya wanna see what Uluwatu was like today. The boys from the Kandui Surf Resort up in the Mentawai Islands have sent us through some new photos and surf reports. I I have to admit the photos are sick . Likewise our man Scott Thompson has also been blasting away with his camera up along Australia’s North Coast . So have a look at those first if your at work.
Lakey Peak on the island of Sumbawa , our man on the scene Mr Craig Oliver emailed me last night to say that they also had a solid kick in wave height yesterday over at Lakey’s. Craig reckoned Lakey” “Peak” was brea king at a solid 5-6ft and chewing up surf boards and surfers. There were also good waves coming through on the long left of Nunga’s. But the crew nev er got to taste Periscope’s yesterday as the Tradewind kicked in with gusto around midday blowing out surfing conditions with cross/on-shore wind.
Weather wise , this morning started off with a sky full of stars, and then around 5.45am some big old black clouds moved in and dropped a few buckets of rain. Right now at 7.15am it’s starting to clear up again and we should be in for another hot and sunny day here in Bali .
For the surfer / fisherman out there, and isn’t there a little bit of fisherman in all of us ? Well you guys can take a look at the freshly up dated fishing report and photos from the last couple of days sport fishing here in Bali .
