**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Good morning to my fine friends of Bali tuning in for the baliwaves.com daily surf and weather report today. I was down the beach this morning for the 6.30am surf recon of the Outer reefs and wave height has had a slight boost in size, but still only showing in the 1-2ft+ range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left .
The tide is currently on the run in for 1.6mtr High @ 7.00am then will be dropping out for a 1.1mtr Low around 1.00pm . Still not a lot of tidal range happening but that will start to change as we get closer to the Full Moon on the 20th . Wind direction this morning is all good coming outta the ESE @ 4-6knot and off-shore between Legian and Uluwatu.
Kuta Reef didn’t really have enough swell for a paddle only showing the odd 1 footer. Middle Reef had a few waist to shoulder high plus set waves and there was a couple of surfers out there. Airport Left was looking the best option outta the big 3 with waist to shoulder high plus set waves and likewise there was a couple of surfers already out there enjoying them. Uluwatu would have to be the best option If you were looking for a bit more size, power and competition. I was going to make the run down there for some fresh photos but have opted to show you a few more from the 14th when it was cranking.
Weather wise here in Bali this morning we have a mainly cool and cloudy start first up. But when the Tradewind starts to kick in it will more than likely clear up for another hot and sunny day on this happy little holiday island.
Lakey Peak on the island of Sumbawa and Craig has emailed through that wave height has also backed off down into the 2-3ft range out on The Peak. But he mentioned that the crew over there are not bummed out after the last few days of excellent waves.
The boys from the Kandui Surf Resort up in the Mentawai islands have sent us through a new surf report so check that out and you can find it in the Surf Report section of our menue bar.
Quicksilver Indonesia will be running a contest there with the waiting period starting on the 17th of this month . So if your going to be here in Bali get up to Keramas to see the hottest surfers in Indonesia doing their stuff. And if your not don’t worry because we’ll be on the scene to shoot video of the contest for ya’s to view here on the baliwaves.com
