**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Hey crew welcome back to the baliwaves.com daily surf and weather run down for Bali . Firstly I betta let ya’s know that the Quicksilver contest won’t be kicking off today. I received an email from Tim the ISC tour director last night saying that it will be running tomorrow, Sunday the 20th of April .
Ok well I was down at the beach this morning for the 6.00am surf recon of the Outer Reefs here in Tuban. I dunno but I woulda called a slight increase in wave height today between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. The tide was still running in for a 2.3mtr High set for 10.00am and the wind mostly off-shore coming outta the ENE @ 4-7knot .
There were already 2 surfers in the water at Kuta Reef and wave height appeared to be breaking in the 2-2ft+ range, unless the 2 surfers were midgets. Middle Reef didn’t have anyone out there yet and also looking to be hitting the waist to shoulder high mark on the set waves. Airport Left already had a handful of surfers out there with 2 foot set waves.
I was feeling he need to get you guys some fresh photos so I hit the road for Uluwatu and was down there by 8.00am. Wave height at Uluwatu was an honest 3 foot on the set waves and there were already about 25 surfers spread through the Main Peak . But by the time I packed it in there woulda been close to 65. There were also another half a dozen surfers up the reef riding the Temple section . Temple ’s was actually looking like the place to be down at Ulu today, brea king more consistently and providing longer rides. I also have to admit it was definitely open day for learners down at Uluwatu .
Weather wise we got off to a 50/50 cloud and blue sky start, but now at 11.00am it’s pretty much blue sky over us here in Tuban. The tempe rature would have to be sitting around the 29-30 degree mark. While the wind has straighten’d up and blowing straight off-shore between Legian and Uluwatu outta the ESE-SE @ 5-9knot.
Datah Primary School : My next visit to the shool will be on the 23rd of this mont h and hopefully I’ll be able to show you some photos of the completed wall and new gate. I also have another batch of tex t books and colouring in pencils and other stuff to del iver for the kids.
Surfboard Tax outta Bali : There is none…. And the people responsible for spreading that economy damaging rumor should be placed inside a board bag, hung from a tree and slowly roasted over a burning garbage can.
