**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Howdy friends and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves.com for the run down on surf and weather conditions around Bali , not too mention other assorted info.
Firstly just to bring ya’s upta date on where I was yesterday. Well the Quicksilver Open was running up at Keramas so I decided to take a run up there and shoot a bit of video footage for ya’s. These images I’ve loaded up this morning are only some low quality frame grabs outta the footage. But the surfing that I was there to see was pretty dynamic to say the least. I’ve already loaded the 2 new video clips onto baliwaves so have a flick through and take a look for yourselves.
Today they should be running the finals up there but it’s a pity I don’t have the time or resources to get back up there. Wave height has had a slight boost in size that started to show late yesterday afternoon so it would be going off at Keramas today.
Here on the Outer Reefs we have wave height showing in the 2-3ft+ range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Scott who is back with us in Bali has already sms’d me that he is on location at Canggu and wave height is hitting the 4ft mark up there. He also mentioned that he has some new photos for us and I’ll get them on-line for ya’s this afternoon.
Me I think I’ll be taking a couple of hours off shortly to go take a closer look at the waves on the Outer Reefs. Hey and yeah I’ve also dropped another 100 photos into the Surfing Gallery for April if you wanna take a look at some of the waves that we have had here in Bali so far this mont h.
Weather wise today we have another classic day coming on for the lucky people already here on holidays, blue sky and sunshine is the order of the day. The wind is coming outta the ESE @ 2-4knot and off-shore between Legian and Uluwatu. The first of the tides today is going to be a solid 2.7mtr High around 11.30am and then followed up with a 0.1mtr reef exposing Low around 5.30pm.
Datah Primary School : My next visit to the shool will be on the 23rd of this mont h and hopefully I’ll be able to show you some photos of the completed wall and new gate. I also have another batch of tex t books and colouring in pencils and other stuff to del iver for the kids.
Surfboard Tax outta Bali : There is none…. And the people responsible for spreading that economy damaging rumor should be placed inside a board bag, hung from a tree and slowly roasted over a burning garbage can.
Lakey Peak , ok here’s another bit of info for any of ya’s planning on hitting Lakey Peak on the island of S u m b a w a this year. Merapati airlines are allowing surfboards on the flights but they are charging Rp10,000 (AU$1.20) per kg of surfboard(s)
For the surfer / fisherman out there, and isn’t there a little bit of fisherman in all of us ? Well you guys can take a look at the up dated fishing report and photos from the last couple of trips out sport fishing here in Bali
