**** AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE **** Hey crew and welcome aboard the baliwaves.com daily surf and weather report machine . Well I suppose that what daily means, everyday new surf info and photos. Hey and did I also mention that I did manage to load 4 New Video Clips into our Revver Video section, well yes ind eed I did. Not to mention another 60 photos into our May Surfing Gallery .
This mornings surf recon of the Outer Reefs was true to form with our swell forecast and a solid increase in wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport left . The first of our tides today was a smacking 2.6mtr High @ 11.00am followed by a reef exposing 0.1mtr Low @ 5.00pm . Wind direction has been coming outta the ESE-SE @ 7-14knot , Tradewind strength.
Kuta Reef was peeling off some pretty waves in the head to head high plus range while the tide was on the make this morning. And no shortage of surfers out there hooking in to em. Middle Reef was holding a solid double head high and will improve through the afternoon on the run out tide. Airport Left also had it’s fair share of waves and even a bigger share of surfers chasing the 2-4 footers.
Scotto was down at Uluwatu and still filling in for me while my back is still mending. And from the look of these latest photos he’s handed over to me this afternoon it was smoking down on the Main Peak and Temple sections . Here’s what Scotto had to say on surfing conditions down at Ulu.
“Today I was a little late getting away but I first did a surf check of the outer reefs to see that there was some good 3-4ft waves hitting Kuta reef. With this observation I packed the gear and headed down to Uluwatu. There was only 3 guys in the water on the main peak when I rocked up at 9am and another 2 or 3 sitting further out on the bombie. This remained the way most of the morning till around 11:30am when the tide started to run back out and as I was packing up there was about 20 guys and gals sitting on the take off spot. There was how ever two smart surfers sitting way up the point at temples and picking off some absolute bombs and getting seriously long stand up pits. Closer inpsection through my 600mm lens revealed it was none other than Mr Rob Machado and Mr Kalani Robb enjoying a little wave sharing time all to themselves. So anyway as to the conditions well have a look at the photos. It was clean big and barrelling what else could you want? In my opinion it was in the 6ft+ range on the sets. With a very light crowd it would be a hard sell to make someone want to be anywhere else other than on the bukit of Bali, enjoying perfect weather and waves. Ok thats my work done for the day. Till next time. Scotto”
Mentawai Islands , and the good guys up at the Kan dui Surf Resort have kept the surf reports flowing and we have more fresh news from Kan dui.

Swell Forecast : (3rd – 9th May) Well this current swell was pretty much right on track give or take 12hrs. Tomorrow should see a very slight drop in size but still plenty of solid waves happening around Bali . Sunday see’s a furth er drop in wave height before our next swell system starts to fill in around Monday or Tuesday and then the fun will begin a again. Then even furth er out towards the end of next week yet another solid swell should be making an appearance. So it’s gunna be waves, waves and more waves for the lucky buggers here on the happy little holiday island of B a l i .
