**** AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE **** Hello crew and thanks for sticking around for the baliwaves.com daily 7/7 surf and weather report . Yep another late one coming to ya’s again today but it’s been raining pretty much non stop since 5.45am.
Anyway by the time I made it down to the beach for a look at conditions on the Outer Reefs it was just after lunch and wave height had taken a slight hit in size. Backing off into the 2-4ft range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left . The first of our tides today was 1.1mtr Low @ 9.30am and then the 1.8mtr High Tide @ 2.30pm . Wind wis e there was practically none while it was raining for the first half of the day before the ESE-SE off-shore kicked in and stayed that way.
Kuta Reef was looking the best to me with some set waves pushing a few feet over head and peeling off for a good 80yrds+. Crowd wis e there only looked to be no more than 15-20 surfers in the line up. Middle Reef was also producing some over head waves and with maybe another 10-15 surfers out there. Down on Airport Left wave height was in the shoulder to head high plus range with slightly more surfers on it. I also heard there were a few ok waves in the shoulder to head high plus range brea king up at Canggu according to my local friend Devis Ratif.
Weather wise today it was a shock to the system for the locals with rain from the early morning til after lunch before the sun broke through. Tempe rature wis e I’d say it mighta just made it to 26 degree’s Celsius.
Mentawai Islands : Well like clockwork the guys from the Kan dui Surf Resort have sent us through another surf update from there region of Sumatra . And pretty soon we’ll also have images and reports for ya’s to check out from the Macaronis Resort in the Mentawai islands as well.

Swell Forecast ; (9th May – 15th may) It’s all happening here in Bali folks. Small waves today before we should start to see a new system showing sometime late tomorrow afternoon and then building into a 6-8ft+ swell over the weekend. This should continue into next week with another system riding in on it’s back and keeping wave height in the medium to solid class and then furth er out towards the end of next week yet another solid swell system moving in on us.
