**** AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE **** Hello surfers and thanks for dropping into the baliwaves.com for your daily dose of Bali surf and weather info . And even though wave height has dropped off another peg there was still plenty of waves for the lucky buggers here in Bali today.
I took my first surf recon of the Outer Reefs at 6.30am to find wave height breaking in the 2-3ft range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left . Tide wise the first one was a 2.6mtr High @ 11.30am and then followed up with a 0.1mtr Low around 6.00pm . The wind was only light outta the East to start with before the ESE- SE Tradewind kicked in around 9.00am.
Kuta Reef still had some small waves peeling off in the knee to chest high range.
Middle Reef was looking pretty good early while the tide was still running in breaking in the waist to head high class.
Airport Left was similar in size to KR and once again that’s where the most traffic was on the Outer Reefs.
Canggu , Scotto was up on location at Canggu shooting some photos for us and ya can check out Scott’s full surf report and photos in our Readers Report page.
Impossible’s was pretty small when we cruised past, only just breaking in the knee to waist high range.
Padang Padang was virtually flat.
Uluwatu, well as ya’s can see in these latest photos I snapped there was still the odd 4 footer breaking on the Main Peak when we arrived around 8.30am. There were also plenty of waves in the head high range breaking up on Temple ’s and Temple ’s in my opinion woulda been the better option for the more sane. There was somewhere around 60 surfers spread across the Main Peak on arrival but by the time we packed up shop there woulda only been half that number. I also managed to shoot 8 minutes of digital video footage so I’ll try and edit ya’s a new video clip later this afternoon. That’ll be the best way to get an idea on how the waves really were.
Weather wise today around Bali it’s been 95% sunshine and 5% cloud. Temperature wise the mercury woulda easily hit the 30 degree Celsius mark while the water temp is steady on 23 degree’s Celsius.
Swell forecast (31st May – 7th June) after checking out as much information as I can from the swell prediction guys it looks like we are gunna be in more small waves again through Monday. Then sometime between Monday afternoon and Tuesday afternoon we will score a new swell outta the SW and wave height should go back into the 4-6ft+ range on the open Southern facing locations. This system should provide waves through till Thursday before backing off into the 2-4ft class. Then sometime around Saturday another smaller system will come through and push wave height back into the 3-4ft+ range. So all in all it’s gunna be a good week of waves for the crew over here in Bali / Ind onesia .
Mentawai islands ; The good guys from the Kandui Surf Resort have sent us through another new batch of photos showing off more perfection in their part of Ind o. And you’ll be able to suss them out in the Surf Report section. Here’s another baliwaves bonus for ya’s dept; Anyday now we’ll also be providing ya’s with surf reports and photos from the Macaronis Surf Resort up in the Mentawai’s. I was talking to a couple of friends yesterday who have been out on charter in the Ments and they reckon if they ever make it back up there again they won’t be going on a boat after stopping off in the Surf Resorts. That’s where they’ll be heading. The Surf Resorts up there just make it all too easy for their guests with speed boats to zap you around all day and then back to the Resort for R & R in the evenings.
G-Land ; I had a pnone call from G-Land this morning and Raymond said to tell you guys and girls that he’ll give you 15% discount off the published price . Just click on his G-Land banner over in our banner advertisement section and drop him an email.
