**** AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE **** G’day surf dogs and thanks for dropping into the old baliwaves.com for more surf and weather info from your favourite surfing holiday destination of Bali .
Well I didn’t get a chance to do my morning surf recon of the Outer Reefs as the crew and I from here at Home Base had the boards on the roof and on the road by 4.30am. Destination West Coast Bali .
We arrived at our destination just before 6.30am to find wave height breaking in the 2-4ft range and a variety of left and right hander’s . The wind was light off-shore for the early morning paddle and the tide just coming off the bottom of the Low. First up there was only a couple of other surfers already in the water but by 10.00am there woulda been close to 40 spread over the 3 different sections.
Also as the tide kept creeping in wave height was also increasing with the presence of the odd 5 footer on the Left and Right peak . But it wasn’t long after that the Tradewind kicked in turning wind direction ESE-SE and cross-shore . Even so the waves were still pretty clean and tidy and the boys managed to get in two surfs before lunch in the cafes over looking the action.
And funny enough as I type up this report and edit the photos from today’s little road trip the crew from here at Home Base are all in their rooms sound asleep. Job well done !
And closer to home our roving photographer Scotto was back up at Canggu shooting some more photos for ya’s and you’ll find Scott’s surf report and photos in our READERS REPORT page.
Weather wise today it was just another perfect day all round for the lucky surfers on holiday here in Bali .
Swell forecast (31st May – 7th June) after checking out as much information as I can from the swell prediction guys it looks like we are gunna be in more small waves again through Monday. Then sometime between Monday afternoon and Tuesday afternoon we will score a new swell outta the SW and wave height should go back into the 4-6ft+ range on the open Southern facing locations. This system should provide waves through till Thursday before backing off into the 2-4ft class. Then sometime around Saturday another smaller system will come through and push wave height back into the 3-4ft+ range. So all in all it’s gunna be a good week of waves for the crew over here in Bali / Ind onesia .
Mentawai islands ; The good guys from the Kandui Surf Resort have sent us through another new batch of photos showing off more perfection in their part of Ind o. And you’ll be able to suss them out in the Surf Report section. Here’s another baliwaves bonus for ya’s dept; Anyday now we’ll also be providing ya’s with surf reports and photos from the Macaronis Surf Resort up in the Mentawai’s. I was talking to a couple of friends yesterday who have been out on charter in the Ments and they reckon if they ever make it back up there again they won’t be going on a boat after stopping off in the Surf Resorts. That’s where they’ll be heading. The Surf Resorts up there just make it all too easy for their guests with speed boats to zap you around all day and then back to the Resort for R & R in the evenings.
G-Land ; I had a pnone call from G-Land this morning and Raymond said to tell you guys and girls that he’ll give you 15% discount off the published price . Just click on his G-Land banner over in our banner advertisement section and drop him an email.
