****MORNING SURF UP-DATE**** Hello surfers and welcome back to the baliwaves for your daily run down on Bali’s suf and weather conditions (since ’99)
Hmmm, well my 6.45am surf recon of the Outer Reefs here in Tuban wasn’t looking too good for anyone wanting to surf out there this morning. Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airport Left has all but faded out and only showing in the half to one foot range. The first of out tides today in Bali was a 2.0mtr High around the 7.00am mark and then we have a 0.7mtr Low around 2.00pm. Wind direction was coming outta the WNW @ 1.2knot but we can count on the ESE-SE Tradewind kicking in anytime around mid morning.
Looking for a wave this morning your gunna have to be prepared to do a few clicks on the road. I’d imagine here along the West Coast you could still find a few smallies at Canggu, and if you hada hit the road before sun up you woulda done ok at Balian. That’s where the boys from Home Base headed for at 4.45am. Over on the East Coast you’d also be able to find some surf at Nusa Dua, further up the east side Keramas would also have to be worth a look before the Tradewind commence’s.
Swell Forecast (29th July – 4th August) So as I mentioned already pretty small surf around for the remainder of today the 29th. But hold onto ya hats because starting tomorrow the 30th we should have some solid waves hitting our reefs that will hold through into the 31st before slightly dropping off a touch. Then right behind her we have another swell moving into position for the weekend before tapering off early next week. And then there’s even another smaller system behind that !
Weather forecast for today is for a cloudy start through the early am and then nothing less than blue sky and sun shine for the remainder. Heading for a top temperature of around 32 degree’s Celsius outta the comfort of your hotel room. While the water temp isn’t too bad at at 21 degree’s Celsius.
Ok that’s all folks, but I might have a little something special for ya’s later this afternoon / evening, so don’t go too far away and try and get some work done in the meantime. Feel free to drop us a line here at the baliwaves if you need any info that might make your next Bali Holiday run that little bit smoother.
And just a reminder that we still have some baliwaves.com T-Shirts and stickers available for ya’s here in Bali so drop me a line.
Mentawai islands ; The good guys from the Kandui Surf Resort have sent us through another new batch of photos showing off more perfection in their part of Ind o. And you’ll be able to suss them out in the Surf Report section. Here’s another baliwaves bonus for ya’s dept; Anyday now we’ll also be providing ya’s with surf reports and photos from the Macaronis Surf Resort up in the Mentawai’s. I was talking to a couple of friends yesterday who have been out on charter in the Ments and they reckon if they ever make it back up there again they won’t be going on a boat after stopping off in the Surf Resorts. That’s where they’ll be heading. The Surf Resorts up there just make it all too easy for their guests with speed boats to zap you around all day and then back to the Resort for R & R in the evenings.
