****MORNING SURF UP-DATE**** Hi crew and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves.com to see whats been going down surf and weather wise here on your No.1 surfing holiday island of Bali.
Well first of all yesterday it didn ‘t stop raining until after lunch so I kinda cancelled my plans to go and get ya’s some new photos. But still the boys from here at Home Base made the short trip over to Serangan on the east Coast and reckoned it was ok with wave height in the waist to head high. Along with a clean off-shore Westerly wind.
This mornings 7.0Am surf recon on the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was virtually the same as it’s been everyday over the last month or so. Wave height showin g in the 0-1ft range between Kuta Reef and Airport left but with the wind coming out of the WNW @ 2-5knot. Since then it has swung further around and now coming out of the West @ 6-10knot.
Tide wise we had a 1.5mtr High @ 6.00Am and then there will be a 0.8mtr Low @ 12.00 noon. Finishing off the day with a 2.1mtr High around the 6.30Pm mark.
Looking for a wave today you can count out the West Coast but you might have found a small wave along the beach breaks of Kuta to legian and also up at Canggu early this morning. But only if you like the smell and feel of thousands of dead “pilchards” (small fish). The Pilchards have been schooling between Kuta and Tabanan over the last month. The best bet for a wave would be over on the East Coast from anywhere between Nyang Nyangs and Keramas.
Weather wise today we have a clean blue sky and now at 11.00Am the outside temperature would easily have busted the 30 degree Celsius mark.
Swell Situation ; well if the swell prediction guys have got it right our next expected boost in wave height should be for a small pulse on Christmas / Boxing Day.
Don’t forget you can drop us an email through the “Contact” link if you have any questions that might help your next vist to the holiday island run a bit smoother.
The good guys from the Macaroni Surf Resort up in the Mentawai Islands have also sent us through an “end of season” wrap up and included some super special deals for anyone wanting to get in early and book for the coming 2009 season. So check that out on the Macaroni Report under Surf Reports.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Kuta you will find that 1AU$=Rp7,585 – 1US$=Rp10,650 give or take 100 Rupiah.
I also just wanna refresh ya’s about what baliwaves.com is all about. We’re not trying to flog ya’s surf trips or sell ya’s anything for that matter, we’re just trying to show ya’s how good it is here in Bali / Indonesia for a surfing holiday. We want you guys to come over and have a ball and then go back home and tell your friends how good it is.
G-Land ; “SPECIAL OFFER FOR BALIWAVES.COM VIEWERS, 10% DISCOUNT” thanks to the G-land Surf Camp for sending us some new photos from G-land. And you can take a look at those on the G-Land page under the report section. We also have a NEW Home Base guest house close by to Airport Left and the other breaks of the Outer Reefs, 5 min walk. The rooms are US$15.00 for a room with big double bed and US$28.00 for a twin share room
If it’s somewhere a little more private you’r looking for take a look at the private bungalow for rent we have in our Business Directory and drop the owner Michael Owen an email. Michael is one of the old school surfers who rubs shoulders with the likes of Gerry Lopez and Peter McCabe just to name a couple of Indo Legends.
Bali Fishing New’s ; I finally got around to loading up some of the photos I’ve taken of some of the fish we’ve caught over the last 4 weeks. Plus a bit of a run down on what we’ve been up to. You can find that on our Fishing Report Page in the Reports Menue.
And just a reminder that we still have some original baliwaves.com T-Shirts (AU$15.00) and FREE stickers available for ya’s here in Bali so drop me a line.
