BALI / INDONESIA
3rd – 4th June 2019
Hello surfers and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves (The original Bali surf report since back in 1999) Make sure you keep on reading for more information on cheap surfers accommodation, surf, tide and weather info, discounts into G-Land and lots of other stuff.
Ok how is everyone today, lets get it on. On the the 3rd I took a day off and thought me and a bro would go for a cruise out in the old boat and see if we could find any fish. We only hang out around the Balangan area, that’s where the fish have been, but no luck. I do have to mention that with no sun and getting the spray off the boat it was actually freezing cold out there. The surf was pumping though, pouring through pretty much non stop and well over head in the 3-4ft+ range. I only counted around 20 surfers in the water while we were there.
Yesterday the 4th and we went back down there hoping to score some waves. Arriving at 6.30AM to see some very nice lines peeling off the point in the 2-4ft range and no one in the water. Surfing conditions were clean with the wind blowing straight off shore out of the East and the tide rolling in fast. Unfortunately as the tide filled in the bigger set waves got less frequent and the crowd also filled right in with the tide. It was getting pretty dangerous out there with lots of learners plowing into each other.
Weather wise down there it was mostly cloudy
Today the 5th and weather wise today we have got some sun out. Ketut took the camera gear up the coast a little ways to the always popular Canggu beach. Wave height was down in the waist to head high range and no shortage of good surfing going down. So I’ll sort out some of the best photos and get them up on the baliwaves asap.
Weather wise right now here in South Kuta at 11.20am the temperature is on 29 degree’s Celsius, Humidity is on 79% and the UV index on 6 so sunscreen up if your at the beach. Earlier this morning there was no wind un til around 9.00AM when the ESE Trade wind started to kick in, currently gusting up to 28km/h.
Tomorrows surf forecast is maybe showing a slight bump in size, but with a shorter period so it’s going to be more of a wait and see what we get sort of deal.
Further out in the Indian Ocean how ever there are a couple of real solid swell systems spinning towards Indonesia and if they hold steady we will be seeing the World famous Padang Padang in full glory around the 11th, give or take.
