BALI / INDONESIA
11th -12th June 2019
Hello surfers and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves (The original Bali surf report since back in 1999) Make sure you keep on reading for more information on cheap surfers accommodation, surf, tide and weather info, discounts into G-Land and lots of other stuff.
Hey so bam right on schedule our new swell slammed in Bali with some very serious waves hitting our East Coast where we set up for the morning session. As it shows in today’s photo gallery there were a few set waves pushing past the 8ft range and borderline 9-10ft, which is damn big. Down of the Southern end of the island it was a couple of the long term expats putting on a show. Which was pretty impressive considering the age groups. Surfing conditions were clean with early morning off shore wind and remaining clean and glassy right through until we packed up around 10.00AM. My last glimpse of the waves before we pulled out was of a massive 2 wave set with the first of breaking about 25mtrs outside the handful of surfers left in the line up. Out of the dozen or so surfers that paddled out I counted 3 broken boards and 1 broken leg rope.
Over on the West Coast I had Ketut head down to Padang Padang for the running of the Padang Padang Cup trials. To give 1-2 local Indonesian surfers a chance to enter the main up coming main event. Ketut was calling the waves were hitting the shelf in the 5ft or almost double head high class which is not quite optimum size for Padang Padang to deliver it’s full spectacular potential but still I’m sure there were a few goods coming through before the tide started to effect it. Ketut shot a head pf photos and some video footage for us and I’m looking forward to check that out later this afternoon.
Weather wise yesterday it was mostly cloudy and a very dull grey.
This morning the 12th and right now it’s just gone 4.55am and we will be back out there on the hunt for more waves cause there should still be some big waves bumping in Bali. So make sure you stay tuned right here for our Bali Morning Surf n Weather up dates through our Twitter feed on this Home Page.
Oh yeah Dept, don’t forget to take a look at our latest VIDEO CLIP on the Home Page, you should see some recognizable stuff in there.
