BALI / INDONESIA
23rd – 24th July 2019
First of all we would like to wish all our Balinese friends Selamet Hari Raya Galungan dan Kuningan, Rahajeng Galungan lan Kuningan.
Hello surfers and lovers of Bali and thanks again for stopping by the baliwaves (Bringing you all the good things from Bali since back in 1999) for our latest news and best possible views on surfing and weather conditions here on the island of the Gods, and the No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination and gateway to Indonesia’s surfing paradise, Bali.
Here’s another pretty slick photo gallery from where we were yesterday down on the Southern end of the island. Perfect white sand and some long peeling left handers on offer. Wave height through the morning was pushing the 6ft mark on the sets but seemed to back off a little as the tide filled in. The crowd also filled in with the tide.
Today the 24th and my 7.00am surf check on the Outer reefs of Tuban was showing wave height breaking in the head to almost double head high class between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. The tide was still low and Middle Reef was picking up the better shape and the better size. The wind was already off shore coming light out of the East and there were surfers in the water on all 3 of the main sections.
Weather wise there was some cloud around early but it’s just about gone now at 2.40pm. The temperature is currently on 28C with the Humidity at 65%, UV index in on 2. Wind direction is now coming out of the ESE with gusts up ton 25km/h plus.
Tomorrow’s swell forecast is showing that the forecasters have changed our next swell to be arriving later this evening and peaking tomorrow. This one has a lot more Southerly direction so it should be getting into our East Coast more. But I would still be expecting some solid waves here along Bali’s West Coast as well.
Ok we have been sent in a NEW SURF STORY of a surfers first experience up in the Mentawai Islands this season. It’s a pretty easy read and might even come in handy for anyone thinking about getting up there for their first visit.
I’ve also still got another batch of Padang Padang photos to edit up to complete our RipCurl Padang Padang Cup collection so stay tuned.
