Hi crew, just a quick one today to bring ya’s up ta scratch. Well yesterday the 24th and as the photos say we were down at Uluwatu for the new SW swell that arrived right on que. As always it’s pretty tricky calling wave height at Uluwatu when it is big. You know, when it’s big it’s just big and usually bigger looking up at the waves in the water than what it looks like from up on the cliff.
Anyway yesterday down at Uluwatu was pretty big, somewhere in the 6-10ft class. Not a lot of surfers in the water and pretty much everyone riding 8’+ guns except Italo Ferreira and my old friend Eduardo Wearne. Some long fast rides breaking off the Bombie then the Outside Racetrack was also so peeling off but the surfers there were having to deal with a lot of bumpy faces. Not big enough yesterday for the Outside Corner but almost.
Today the 25th and we though we would try our luck and a shift in scenery with a dawn patrol mission over to the East Coast. We were hoping to see some size hitting Keramas but were pretty surprised to only find 3-4 footers. It was a little bit wonky at first but as the off shore wind picked up a bit it cleaned up and delivered a few barrels for the dozen or so surfers on location.
Weather wise, today kicked off with some early morning rain before mellowing out to warm and sunny with a top temperature of 31C. Right now at 4.45pm it’s still 30C with the Humidity at 77%. Wind direction is out of the ESE at 8knots.
Tomorrows Surf Forecast is calling a further drop in wave height through out the day and more fresh, gusty ESE wind.
