Hi friends we really want to thank everyone who has helped us get through the pandemic and total lack of income. I’m so happy to see the speed at which Bali is coming back into swing again. But baliwaves needs camera equipment to carry on, usually we upgrade / burn out our old gear around every 4 yrs. This time round we went 6yrs and were very lucky to get through. But hopefully (fingers crossed) we are on track and on the come back trail again. Please don’t give up on us through this as hopefully we are on the last leg. If you could spare a dollar or two (every dollar makes a difference) then hit this link https://www.baliwaves.com/2020/08/baliwaves-needs-your-support/
Please don’t hesitate to Please don’t hesitate to drop us an email for any surfing accommodation info and we’ll do our best to help out.
As it shows in our latest photos we were down at Bali’s most unmistakable iconic surfing location of Uluwatu on the 10th. The place that really put Bali on the map and on the minds of so many nomadic travelling surfers oy yesterday and tomorrow. Just a quick one for today as I need to get down and check our boat after another night of heavy rain. I also loaded a 1 wave video clip I shot in 4K today into our baliwaves Facebook page. That will give you an idea of just how clean conditions were at Uluwatu until the wind switched to the S-SW around 12.00noon.
Some really nice waves breaking on all sections from Temples up to The Main peak and some early morning Racetrack peelers. Low crowds early before getting a little bit crazy as the tide filled late morning.
Weather wise terrible conditions for shooting photos and video with a mostly overcast day all day long. It’s also looking likely for ano0ther night of rain.
Tomorrows surf forecast has the wave models predicting a drop in wave height on a 14 second period. Wind direction is predicted to be light and variable before hanging in the Southern quadrant.
Today the 11th and with a light North Easterly wind this morning and fast dropping swell we opted out for a session at Canggu. I haven’t downloaded today’s photos just yet due to a stressful drive home of bumper to bumper traffic riddled with very bad motor cyclists and drivers. But we knew what we were buying when he headed for the Gu. Never the less some fun little waves probably as good as it was anywhere else on the island. Wave height was in the 1-3ft class. Crowd wise it was no where near as busy in the water as the previous day at Ulu.
Rightio people I gotta run but stay tuned for more news and views tomorrow, starting with our on the scence talk through surf and weather video report on baliwaves FB.
We have also added some boardshorts and trucker caps into our original baliwaves surf wear page so check it out and order up some quality made apparel exclusive to baliwaves.

Breaking News Department. Petrol has jumped 30% in price from the 4th of September so be prepared for slight increases in all prices on just about everything here in Bali. The first of the increases was LPG, our 7kg refills have gone from Rp135K now at 230K for the same fill. 95% of Indonesia runs on gas for cooking so that’s going to hurt everyone.
