Hello everyone and I hope you’re settling into 2023 so far. On the 6th Bali was still being battered by strong WSW wind with not many options available and no options for an un crowded paddle so we through off. Yesterday the 7th with the wind starting to back off a bit Ketut took a run over to Keramas. We choose this location knowing that the swell was backing off and we would be sure to find a few waves hitting K-Mas on the run up tide.
On arrival Ketut reckoned there was already around 30 surfers in the water. With wave height in the chest to over head range (2-3ft+) and the wind light and variable helping to produce some clean and glassy waves. But within 20 mins started to tend more to West and then later dedicate to the WSW and increase into the 12-15knt range. weather wise it was mostly over cast with a couple of showers thrown in.
This morning the 8th and our 7.30am surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban / South Kuta was only showing wave height in the 11-1ft+ range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. The tide was still on the run up for a 2.0mtr High Tide scheduled for 11.11am. Here’s our link for tide charts for Bali and you can also find tidal ranges for just about anywhere in Indonesia. https://www.baliwaves.com/surfing-in-bali/tide-charts/
Looking for a wave today. I would be heading back over to the East Cost of Bali hoping to find a little better size and the better know locations.
Weather wise this morning it’s a very nice change to see the wind has backed off down into the 5-8knt range and a blue sky. Right now at 9.40am the temp is on 31C with the Humidity at 69%. Wind is West at 5-8knt and may bend a little more to the SW as the day rolls on.
Tomorrows Surf Forecast has the wave models showing a nice little bump in wave height. Wind wise we should have another day of lighter Westerly wind and maybe even WNW early. Dedicating to the WSW by midday.
Ok my surfing friends thanks for stopping by the baliwaves and we look forward to catching up with a lot of you later this year. Here on the Worlds No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination.
