Hello everyone and welcome to the weekend on the original Bali surf report website. Yesterday the 17th and we never left home until 6.00am so by the time we arrived over on the East Coast we kind of expected a crowd in the water but were hoping that the very hungry visiting surfers had gone somewhere else. Nah, even though there was only maybe 25 surfers in the water it was like a shark feeding frenzy every time a wave came through. At times the numbers bumped into the 30’s but never really dropped under 25. Twenty five doesn’t sound like a lot But when you have only got a small take off area at Keramas it is. I’d say there may have been a few complaining guests at the resort the last week or so.
But as it shows in our latest photo gallery there was some good surfing going down, not many waves were getting through to the keeper and I had to play all my tricks just to get a couple. Yesterday it really was “no place for old men” in the water at Keramas. With the way the wind is at the moment it’s understandable that the limited number of good surfing locations are under stress.
Weather wise it was mostly overcast on the East Coast and it was raining on and off through out the morning. It also rained right through the night here on the West Coast and never left up until around 8.00am this morning.
So far today the 8th I’ve been bogged down behind the computer screen catching up on stuff. Duty now for the future I always say, suffer today but free again tomorrow. News in from the East Coast was of similar sized waves and similar crowd and crew in the water. The wind was light and variable earlt aht would have delivered some early morning clean conditions but since has turned, dedicating to the W-WSW with gusts hitting the 10-12knt class. The best thing is that the rain has stopped and that the sun is trying hard to bust out for a sunny Saturday afternoon.
Temperature wise right now at 2.10pm has the mercury sitting on 29C, humidity is at 80%
The next tide today in Bali will be a 0.7mtr Low at 2.57pm
Tomorrows Surf Forecast has the models predicting similar size again for the morrow with carbon cop wind to go with it. Our next new swell system should bump wave height up a touch on the 20th of Feb.
Ok Bali people I’m knocking off for the day and going to go down for a Pantai Jerman surf check and se what the boys are up to. Have a good weekend and stay tuned right here for the latest news and best views direct out of Bali.
