Hi everyone and welcome back to your baliwaves for the latest news and best views on today’s surfing and weather conditions. Direct from your first choice tropical surfing holiday destination. Life is always better in Bali !
Yesterday the 18th an our long time friends at Keramas Boardriders Club held their annual club contest. I think baliwaves was there at their first ever club contest and have always had a small contribution at “Best Barrel” at all their events with the exception of the pandemic when we we struggling to feed the family. But with Bali coming back to life and times a little less stressful we were stoked to be back and part the KBR club contest again.
The boys were very lucky yesterday to be blessed with a perfect 2-4ft waves in absolute glass. The tide was a slow moving tide yesterday and Keramas beach delivered tip top waves from the first heat the final. Keramas Boardriders is only a relatively small club but made up of good traditional lads all from the local area. We will be looking forward being there again next event and can’t wait to be out in the water sharing waves again with the true locals of Keramas.
Today the 19th of March and all over Bali today and yesterday the Balinese Hindu communities have been celebrating the “Melasti” ceremonies in preparation for our “Nypie” which is fast approaching on the 22nd of this month.
Wave height today has taken a pretty big nose dive and here on the Outer Reefs only showing in the 1-1ft+ between Kuta reef and Airport Left. A great day for the learners and their long boards that were flocking to the beach while we were down on location. Surfing conditions were just as perfect for everyone with un limited blue sky and light variable wind.
Weather wise right now at 12.10pm the sky is still blue and the mercury is sitting on a very warm 32C, humidity is at 72%. Wind direction is now out of the ESE at 12-15km/h.
The next tide today will be a 0.6mtr Low at 2.53pm
Tomorrow’s Surf Forecast has the models calling wave height to remain in the small to micro class on a 13-12 second period. Wind direction is predicted to be ENE on sun rise before dedicating to the SE around midday.
Ok Bali people that’s me for today, we hope your having an awesome weekend. Stay tuned for more news and views as we get them.
If anyone of our regulars has an old GoPro at home they would like to donate to us at baliwaves we would be forever grateful. I did have a GoPro 7 but last year the rubber seal covering the on/off button perished and is now not water tight. email me if you can help, thanks
