I may have talked down the fun little waves we had at The Gu yesterday. So here is a closer look through the 24-3000mm lens thanks to Ketut. It was small but very fun little punchy waves hitting the shallow sandbar.
This morning the 12th, with the off shore E-SE wind howling all night and still blowing hard this morning we made our way back to Uluwatu to take shelter from it under the cliff’s that tower over the Racetrack section. Some perfect little head yo over head high waves peeling down the track with not a heck of a lot of water covering the rocky lava flow reef. There were also waves breaking on the Main peak and further down on Temples. Only a handful of surfers in the water early right through until the tide started to push back in around 9.30am. You can see a short 2min video surf report I posted on our baliwaves facebook page for an overview.
Weather wise there was a bit of cloud about but bot too bad a day and now at 5.00pm we got a clear blue sky.
Tomorrow has the wave modals predicting a moderate swell to hit Bali and surrounding islands. We can also expect more gusty E-ESE wind to go with it. We will be up early so stay tuned to see what happens.
Travel Etiquette, Here in Bali / Indonesian the flu isn’t a big thing normally for the locals and is usually only pretty mild. The problem is when International visitors bring in nasty strains from overseas and spread it to just about everyone they come in contact and then the domino effect takes place. So, if your coming over and you get the flu pre departure please make sure you take all measures to knock it on the head and not spread it around Bali. Thanks.
Well, that’s just about all today from here on the World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination. We hope your day has been just as awesome and looking forward to seeing you here in Bali again soon.
Great seeing you on the native board Slim! How’d she go in the punchy beachies?
Thanks Tom, I really can’t say enough on just how good these boards perform that board I’m riding in these photos is a 7’0″ and it performs in any waves from waist to double head high
