Hello awesome people and thanks for checking into the original Bali surf report website and in fact the first surfing website 2nd website on line in all of Indonesia. Just for the record.
Here’s a handful of photos that Ketut shot yesterday down on the bukit at the very scenic and user friendly location of Balangan. Yesterday the waves were not the main focus at Balangan, as it often isn’t. But there were a few waves peeling off, the tide was already running in so it was as busy as you can imagine in the smaller conditions. A little bit of mayhem but that seems to be becoming the normal at just about any location when the waves are smallish.
Today the 17th and it is Indonesia’s Independence Day and a national holiday across the country. It has been raining heavily since last night and is still looking dark and stormy out there now at 11.22am. Hopefully it will clear up enough for the celebrations that are going to be taking place. It did give me the luxury of time to watch the finals and see Jack Robinson beat Medina in a nail biting heat, Congrats Jack.
Just for the record it’s grey and rainy outside here in South Kuta, the temp is on 24C humidity is at 89% and the wind is North at 11km/h
The next tide will be a 0.07mtr Low at 5.22pm
I will be heading down to the beach for a surf check as soon as the weather all clear is given. I’m pretty sure our old double outrigger is going to need some bailing out before too long. So that’s about us for now but we have a plan for tomorrow so stay tuned here to the baliwaves and we will keep you in the loop with the latest news and best possible views out of Bali. The World’s No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination. Feel free to drop us a line for information that might make your next Bali holiday run a little smoother. Right now here in Bali we have the Volcom Cloudfish digital surf event running and still plenty of time to enter, you can see the event details down the page. We also have the RipCurl Padang Padang Main Event on stand by starting the 1st of August.
