****AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE****
Good afternoon surfers and thanks for tuning into the baliwaves.com for the Sunday Session on todays surfing and weather conditions here on the happy little holiday island of Bali.
This mornings surf recon of the Outer reefs here in Tuban was showing wave height to have dropped back off a touch but still showing in the 1-2ft+ range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Surfing conditions were clean and glassy with the wind coming lightly out of the NW @ 2-4knot. There was also no shortage of *surfers. While I was on the beach at 7.0am there was boat load after boat load heading out to Airport left…
I hit the road for Uluwatu dodging rain all the way and arriving around 9.15am to find wave height a clean and glassy 3-4ft. There were nice waves breaking on all 3 main sections from the Racetrack through the Main Peak and don towards the Temple. Crowd wise I only counted around 25 surfers spread out in total but as the tide started to roll back in the numbers jumped into the 50’s. The wind direction was also swinging further around to the SSE and a touch cross-shore towards midday.
Coming home past Padang Padang and Impossible’s wave height was much smaller and only just breaking in the 1-2ft range through Impossible’s and pretty well flat at Padang Padang. I’m pretty sure wave height will continue to fade away over the next 48hrs but hopefully around Tuesday afternoon, Wednesday morning w should see a solid swell arriving on our reefs around Bali.
Tidal info for today was for a 1.2mtr Low @ 11.00am and then later this aternoon she’ll be running back in for a 1.7mt High @ 5.00pm.
Sms surf report from the G-land Surf Camp was also saying they had a slight drop in wave height and back down into the 3-4ft range between kongs and Money Tree’s. No in the water at the time of the report (6.30am).
Weather wise today, well here in Tuban it’s been mainly sunny but down on the bukit or Southern end of the island there’s been some heavy rain since sun up through till around 10.30am. It was raining on and off while I was down there shooting photos.
I also managed to take quite a few photos of some bodyboarders getting shacked along the Racetrack section and I’ll get them onto their page as soon as possible for the BB crew.
Ok folks enjoy the rest of your Sunday and get ready for another working week here on the one and only original Bali surf report website.
Cheers
Slim
