****AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE****
G’Day crew and thanks for dropping by the baliwaves.com for the latest news on Bali’s surfing and weather conditions.
Well to tell ya’s the truth there hasn’t been a lot of quality waves happening here on the Southern end of the island. However there has been waves but only ranging in the 2-3ft+ sector, that’s why I decided to go fishing yesterday. I know ya’s don’t want to see small on-shore waves, not in the same sentence as Bali anyway. These current photos are from over the last few days down at Uluwatu. There’s only 18 of them so that in itself kinda explains.
Anyway there was slight improvement, and I do mean slight, here on the Outer Reefs of Tuban with 2-3 footers breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. But still the boys and I headed further south down to Uluwatu. Ulu wasn’t it’s usual self thats for sure with only 2-3ft+ of swell hitting the Main Peak and Temple sections and 1-2ft wrapping down the Racetrack.
Surfing conditions were pretty clean even though the wind was on-shore coming out of the WNW-WSW @ 2-5knot.
Tidal info for today was calling for a 1.8mtr High @ 6.00am and then a 1.0mtr Low @ 1.00pm and finishing off the day with another 1.6mtr High around sunset time.
Our daily sms surf report from the G-Land Surf Camp was saying that wave height had also increase into the 3-4ft+ range hitting Money Tree’s and the Launching Pad. But with the wind light on-shore over there as well.
Latest news from lakey Peak on the island of Sumbawa was tellling me that every hotel along the Lakey Peak stip is chockers and that there’s even guests staying all the way back in Dompu.
Weather wise here in Bali and it’s been about just as ordinary as the waves. Mainly over cast with the odd sunny break. While we were on the scene at Uluwatu it also rained for a half hour just before midday.
Swell Forecast; Hold onto your hats cause it’s coming our way. Expecting wave height to start getting bigger on Thursday and then Saturday is looking like the biggest swell of the year so far anyway.
If your planning a trip to Bali this year (and I know you are !!) feel free to drop me an email if you want a helping hand organising anything.
