Keramas Surf Report – Thursday 13th August 2026
Ketut was back over on the East Coast at Keramas early yesterday morning and wave height was sitting in the 3 to 5 foot range with the odd bigger one pushing through on the better sets. The offshore wind held right up until around 10am which kept the faces clean and tidy as they lined up across the reef. Crowd wise there were around 25 surfers out including a couple of pro surfers, so the better ones were getting picked off quickly, but there were still plenty of waves getting through for everyone.
Ketut mentioned the early part of the morning was the pick of it, with the light offshore holding and the water still filling in over the reef. There was a longer range swell behind it, around 15 seconds, so the sets were arriving in proper groups rather than one straight after the other. Once the wind started to swing after 10am it took a bit of the shape out of the faces, though the size stayed up and the reef kept lining up nicely across the peak. The crowd built through the morning as word got around, and by the back end of it surfers were spread wider looking for a wave of their own.
Weather & Tides
Right now it is sitting around 22C in the air with the water around 26C, and it was a sunny day right through with no rain about. On the tides, the water was filling in through the morning which put enough depth over the reef to keep the waves lining up properly. The next high is due around 11:15am before draining back to a low around 5:25pm later in the afternoon, so the middle of the day should still have plenty of water about.
Surf Forecast
Looking ahead there is a bit more size on the way. Friday and Saturday are both showing around 6 foot with the period holding up long, so there should be some solid sets about on the East Coast reefs and a few bigger ones keeping surfers honest. Sunday eases back to around 5 foot but the swell stays long range, so there should still be plenty of waves getting through. Early mornings are the call before the local wind builds, and you can check the swell forecast for the full picture.
