Keramas Surf Report – Tuesday 1st September 2026
Ketut was over on the East Coast at Keramas on Tuesday morning and reported wave height sitting in the 2 to 4 foot range, with the odd bigger one pushing through on the better sets. Winds were offshore from the get go which kept everything clean and tidy across the reef, and the longer period swell out of the south west meant plenty of waves getting through rather than long flat gaps. Crowd wise it was pretty busy, with surfers spread along the reef and a bit of competition for the best ones.
Early on the water was still a little shallow over the reef with the tide down low, so the takeoff was on the quicker side, but once the water started to fill in the waves began lining up better across the reef and there were more of them on offer. The wind stayed light and offshore the whole time rather than swinging around the way it often does later in the day, so it never got bumpy out there. The crowd built as the morning went on, but if you were patient and moved around a little there were still plenty of waves getting through.
Weather & Tides
Right now it is sitting around 25C with sunny conditions and the water about the same, so nothing more than a pair of boardshorts needed. On the tides today there was an early low around 7:30am which left the reef a bit shallow first thing, before the water started filling in through the middle of the day. The next high is due around 1:30pm which should keep enough water over the reef for a mid day surf, before it eases back again to a low around 7:00pm this evening.
Surf Forecast
Looking ahead there is a bit more size on the way. Thursday should come in around 4 to 5 foot with a longer period swell behind it, and Friday looks similar at 4 to 5 foot but easing off slightly through the day. Saturday picks back up to about 5 foot, so there should be plenty of waves about right through the back half of the week. Wind is the thing to keep an eye on over on the East Coast, so early mornings will be the best call before the local wind builds. Have a look at the swell forecast for the full picture.
