Canggu Surf Report – Tuesday 6th October 2026
Ketut was up at Canggu this morning and reported waves sitting around 3 foot, with the long period swell pushing the odd slightly bigger one through. Winds were offshore early which kept the faces clean, and the skies were a bit cloudy to start the day. Crowd wise it was a bit busy, with most surfers bunched up at the sandbar and in front of the river mouth, and a couple of local surfers out among them.
Ketut mentioned the offshore held until around 9am before the wind swung cross shore, which took a bit of the shape out of the waves as the morning went on. The tide peaked around 7:30am and was draining from there, so the early window had the most water and the cleanest conditions. Once the cross shore wind came in it got a bit lumpier out the back, but there were still waves getting through for anyone willing to move away from the main peaks. The busier spots stayed crowded right through, so if you were looking for a wave it paid to spread out along the beach rather than sit with the pack at the river.
Weather & Tides
Right now it’s sitting around 29C and it was cloudy this morning, with the water around 24C. On the tides today we had a high around 7:30am before the tide drained out to a low at about 2:10pm, which left things a bit thin through the middle of the day. The next high is due around 8:40pm tonight, then a low around 2:30am, so tomorrow morning will start with the tide pushing back in.
Surf Forecast
Looking ahead, there’s a decent bump in size on the way. Wednesday should be around 5 to 6 foot on a long period swell, then picking up a little to 6 to 7 foot on Thursday and holding at about 6 to 7 foot into Friday. Winds look variable through those days, so early mornings will be the best call before any local wind builds. With that much size about, Canggu will be one for more experienced surfers, and anyone newer to it should stick to the inside or wait for it to ease. Check the swell forecast for the full picture before you head out.
