Bali Sport Fishing Scene, July 2009.
G’day fisho’s and time for another report on whats been happening on the sport fishing scene. Once again the fishernen from here in Tuban have been lucky with some masive schools of Golden Trevally and Tuna busting up the surface close to home. Providing plenty of adrenalin pumpimg action in our traditional double out rigger boats. Fishing conditions have been pretty good as well apart from the strong ESE-SE Tradewind that’s been gusting up into the 15knot+ range. Here’s a couple of photos I managed to snap in between fish of my own.
If the last couple of months have been any indication of things to come it looks like this year is going to be a good one on the Bali sport fishing scene. Generally our main fishing season doesn’t usualy begin until August for these big scools of Trevally and Tuna. So fingers crossed cause when the surf is down I can’t think of much better than spending the day out in the boat.
Ok crew don’t hesitate to send me an email if you would like to come out with us for some sport fishing Balinese style. Chances are it’ll be the best day fishing you have ever had.The boys charge AU$50.00 per person with a minimum of two guests for the day with everything but your hat included. Plus they’ll even throw together a Balinese fish BBQ for ya afterwards. So drop me a line through the “CONTACT” LINK
Best Regards from Bali

Any experiences for fly rod angler enthusiasts to report around/near Bali?

hey Geoff, I once took out a couple of fly fishermen once a few years back. We come across a school of Tuna in the 3-5kg class and they got smashed up bad. ended up swapping over to conventional spinning equipment 🙂

Does anyone know if the fishing charters are still operating?
