****MORNING SURF UP-DATE****
Howdy crew and welcome back to your baliwaves for the latest and up to date news on surfing and weather conditions here on everyone’s favorite surfing holiday island of Bali.
As ya’s can see in these new photos I shot (8th) the boys and I from here at Home Base made another run up to Keramas. Why, because here on the Outer Reefs wave height was lucky to be in the ankle to knee high division between Kuta Reef and Airport left. And information received from Uluwatu was calling wave height to be in the waist to waist high plus class.
So it was back to K-Mas to see if there was any waves.
Once again the wind was on-shore out of the SSE along the East Coast, but the waves at Keramas were still clean and coming through in the head to over head range. Word was out, and on arrival there would have been at least 20 surfers in the water. But strangely no locals in sight. So once again it was the Mitch Dugggan show at Keramas. The wind was much stronger than the previous day and by 12.00 noon surfing conditions had turned to crap.
This morning the 9th and once again wave height on the Outer Reefs is too small and just lapping onto the reef. Surfing conditions at 7.00am were clean with a light off-shore NE wind.
The wind is expected to swing more to the W-WSW quadrant so for the cleanest conditions and better size the East Coast will be worth the drive.
Tidal info for today has a 0.4mtr Low @ 9.00am and then running back up for another 1.9mtr High around the 3.00pm mark.
Weather wise here in Tuban this morning we’ve got nothing but blue sky above. Heading for another scorcher of around 34 degree’s along the beach. Our water temp seems to have bumped another notch and now around the 25 degree’s Celsius mark.
If it’s clean safe and friendly accommodation here in Tuban only 300mtrs back from the Outer Reefs, including A/C, hot water, refridgerator & TV for US$15.00 (Rp150,000) per night (single) or US$18.00 (Rp180,000) for a couple and US$25.00 (Rp250,000) twin share. Then drop me an email but usually we do need a few weeks notice.
We are also now sending out brief random surf reports and ravings through Twitter mobile phone service so sign up today !
As you all know we have been trialing a new photo viewing program to make it easier for you to flick through the photos on site. Ok, as you also should know is that we highly value our advertisers / sponsors, as they help pay our running costs / bills etc etc. So at the end of the trial period (1 month) if our advertisers / sponsors are still getting the same amount of views and visits then we will keep this system in place. If not then it’ll be back to the old system !!! So please make the time to visit the good folk who help keep the baliwaves on your monitor.
Now’s also a good time to start planning your 2010 Bali / Indo surf trip. If it’s an island hoping adventure on a live aboard surfing charter boat make sure you take a look at what the boys from www.indoocean.com have got on offer for you. G-Land, start getting your friends together for the ultimate surfing adventure at one of the surfing wonders of the World. Check out the guys at www.g-landsurfcamp.com for the experience.
