****MORNING SURF UP-DATE****
Hello crew and welcome back to the baliwaves.com for todays news on surfing and weather conditions here on the ever popular happy little holiday island of Bali. We trust every one is well rested and recovered from New Year’s Eve and ready to roll in 2010.
This mornings surf check on the Outer reefs here in Tuban was showing wave height in the 1-2ft range or knee to waist high between Kuta Reef and Airport left. No surfers in sight this morning and fair enough with the wind coming out of the North @ 6-9knot. The most noticable thing I found down there this morning was the stink of rotting fish along the shore line blowing in from the Kuta to Seminyak stretch of beach. Wave height is predicted to improve a little through out the day.
Tidal info for today had a 0.1mtr Low @ 6.00am and then she’ll be running in for a 1.9mtr High @ midday. There will also be another 0.7mtr Low around 5.30pm.
Looking for a wave this morning, the tides wern’t ideal but locations facing into the south such as Canggu, Balian and Medewi would have had the cleanest surfing conditions with the wind practically blowing straight off-shore. I’d say the wind will swing more to the W-SW as the day goes on then the East Coast will be the place to start your search.
Weather wise here in Tuban this morning there is nothing but blue sky and it looks like we are in for a hot and humid Saturday. Temperature wise heading for a maximum of around 32 degree’s Celsius with the humidity in the max.
The traffic around Bali has been horrendous to say the least over the New Year holiday but things should be getting back to normal over the next week with the Indonesian school holidays finishing on the 4th.
If it’s clean safe and friendly accommodation here at Home Base in Tuban only 300mtrs back from the Outer Reefs, including A/C, hot water, refridgerator & TV for US$16.00 (Rp160,000) per night (single) or US$19.00 (Rp190,000) for a couple and US$26.00 (Rp260,000) twin share. Then contact slim.
We are also now sending out brief random surf reports and ravings through Twitter mobile phone service so sign up today !
Our New Photo program that we have been trialing has turned out to be a success and we’ll be keeping it. Our page view statistics show that our sponsors have been averaging pretty close to the same traffic as before, so a big thanks to you guys and girls.
Best Regards from Bali
