****MORNING SURF UP DATE****
Hello friends and thanks for tuning into the baliwaves (’99) and another weekend of surfing and weather information direct from the No.1 tropical surfing holiday island of Bali.
Well yesterday, as I mentioned through our Twitter reports wave height was pretty ordinary at 1-2ft here on the Outer Reefs of Tuban. And even down at Uluwatu as the tide filled in according to our crew at Uluwatu it was lacking in size and power. But a top day for the grommets to get out and into some surfing.
This mornings 7.00AM surf check on the Outer Reefs how ever was showing a little more promise with wave height now showing in the chest to slightly over head mark between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. There should be waves on all 3 main sections through out the morning with Middle Reef picking up the bigger set waves.
Surfing conditions were clean and glassy with the wind coming lightly out of the SSW @ 1-3knot.
With a little more waves to play with today we’ve loaded up Ketut with the camera gear and he’s down on location at Uluwatu as I type. Apparently wave height at Ulu is in the head to well over head range with similar surfing conditions, clean and glassy. Hopefully the off shore Tradewind will kick in soon and tidy everything right up. I’ll have Ketut’s photos on the baliwaves just after lunch (Bali time).
Weather wise outside this morning it was warming up nicely with lots of blue sky. But now at 10.00Am there’s a lot more cloud bunching up over us. The outside temperature is sitting on 29 degree’s Celsius, humidity at 70%. Wind direction has turned a little more to the West but still light at 2-5knot.
The swell prediction charts are looking good for Bali / Indonesia over the next 7 days with at least 2 different medium to large swells in transit to us. The first of should be showing by Tuesday afternoon and then another slightly smaller system riding in on the back of the first one on Friday.
Special hello to Scott & Lily Halliday (Wayan has the board secured)
