****AFTERNOON SURF UP DATE****
Hi folks and thanks for calling by the baliwaves ’99 for the latest news on today’s surfing and weather conditions from here on everybody’s favorite surfing holiday dstination of Bali.
This mornings 7.15AM surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban was looking like we were on track for some nice waves today. It was breaking slightly bigger again, but still only waist to waist high plus between Kuta Reef and Airport Left, but predicted to build a little more through out the day. There were surfers in the water on Middle Reef and a couple more down on Airport Left.
Surfing conditions out there at the time were clean and glassy with the wind coming lightly out of the North. The wind kept swinging all morning from the N through E and then dedicating to the South by mid morning.
Ketut took a run down to Uluwatu to snap a few photos and as you can see in the photos the southerly wind was already into the waves but it was still fairly smooth. Breaking on the Main Peak in the 2-3ft range. Yes, we did get our camera back from the shop in working order again, with a 1 month guarantee….
Today’s Tidal info had us down for an early morning reef exposing 0.1mtr Low @ 5.00AM and then filling back up with a 1.9mtr High around 11.00PM.
Weather wise it’s been another schorcher here with the mercury easily busting into the mid 30’s on the Celsius scale.
Thanks for taking the time to see what we have going on, I’m thinking it would be good to have another camera (Cannon 7D) so we can shoot photos and video clips everytime we are on the road. So if anyone could lend a helping hand in the aquisitioning of such apparatus please drop us a line and we’ll tell you how to contribute. Any amount you could spare will help big time, we’ll pick up the rest.
But what’s in it for me, you might ask, well besides baliwaves.com continuing to provide (even) higher quality photos for everyone and possibly truck loads of video clips (7D). I’m even giving you the chance to pick up a brand new (never ridden) 6′ 7″ custom made DIVERSE surfboard that can be collected here in Bali. This board is valued at over AU$700.00 Plus a couple of other nice little gifts as well
So for anyone that contributes AU$25.00 they will recieve one ticket in the draw for the new board. eg: $25.00 = 1 ticket,
$100.00 = 4 tickets etc.
1st Prize : 1 brand new DIVERSE surfboard.
2nd Prize : 4 day stay at the G-Land Surf Camp next season (www.g-landsurfcamp.com).
3rd Prize : 5 days free accommodation in Bali.
So not only will you be making a valuable contribution to the baliwaves your also going to have a big chance of pulling off one of these 3 gifts.
I’ll post a full list of everyone who helps out before the end of the draw and it will be a simple “names out of a hat” draw by an independant judge and witness.
Sweet lookin’ stick Slim!!!
