**** MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Hey good morning to all you surfers tuning into the baliwaves and a big thanks for hanging in there while Slim was on the road. It’s always good catching up with your old mates and family, but I tell ya it’s good to be back on Bali . Ok I’ve got a heap of stuff to get upta date for ya’s, but before I unpack my bags and boards I’ll just let ya’s know whats going on in Bali today first. I went down for a look at surfing conditions on the Outer reefs at 6.30am. Wave height between Kuta Reef and Airports was pushing upta 3ft+ but there’s not gunna be any surfing done out there today ! The wind was already coming strongly outta the WSW and on-shore @ 10-12knot+, virtually from sun-up. The tide was just about on the bottom of a 0.6mtr Low set for around 7.30am and is then gunna be running in for a 2.4mtr High around 1.30pm. I’d imagine there’d be 4-5ft+ of swell hitting down at Uluwatu but alas she’d be pretty well trashed by the wind too. Talking to some local boys this morning they were on there way upta Keramas , over on the East Coast. They said there were some nice 2-3 footers up there yesterday with special guest appearance by Mick Fanning in the line-up. Still on the east coast of Bali Serangan and Sri-Lanka would also be offering a few waves for the boys. Made has just filed his sms surf report from Lakey Peak on the island of Sumbawa and says, wave height has dropped down a touch to 1-3ft on lakey Peak this morning. Surfing conditions over there are clean and glassy with no wind to spoil the fun @ 8.00am. But he also mentioned that there were no surfers in the water at the time as Rip Curl Indonesia are holding a surfing contest on Lakey Peak today. So I imagine beer sales will be high over at Lakey’s today with no surfing for the 40 International holidaying surfers in the area. I haven’t got Ray’s kandui / Mentawai report in yet but hopefully we’ll have some news from that part of Indonesia by tomorrow. Ok back to Bali and weather wise for today it started off cloudy but now @ 8.30am it is clearing up, not too mention warming up and we should see the mercury reach 30 degree’s Celcius by midday. I haven’t been in the water as yet, but first chance I get I will let ya’s know what it’s like. Tomorrow I’ll hit the field with the camera equipment and get ya’s some new photos and video clips so make sure ya drop in to the baliwaves then.
