AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE **** Hello again my surfing friends, check out these photos from Uluwatu today , tube city or what ! Me and my motor bike arrived down at Ulu right on 9.00am while the tide was still pretty high. At that stage the surfing focus was on the Main Peak section straight out the front of the cliff side cafe’s. Wave height was a good solid 5ft, upta double head high on the bigger set waves. As the tide started draining off the reef the Racetrack section came alive and for the crew that were taking it on were getting well rewarded with some sick tube rides . But, there was also a fair bit of skin getting left behind on the reef and not too mention a few broken boards thrown in as well. Crowd levels weren’t too bad with only about 60 surfers spread out over a 500yrd surfing arena . I’d also have to think that there woulda been some nice little waves breaking at Bingin through the bottom of the Low tide. It’s also a pretty safe bet to say that we’re gunna be in for more quality surf again tomorrow. So what are ya’s waiting for, get those tickets to Bali locked in now !!!
MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Howdy crew and welcome back to the baliwaves.com daily surf and weather report . Well I’m happy to say that after two days of a hot and cold fever and flu I’m feeling at least 60% better, and ready for a run down to Uluwatu on my little motor bike. I went down for the early surf check of the Outer Reefs at 6.30am and wave height has increased into the 3-4ft+ range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left . The tide was getting towards the top of the High water line and the wind is howling outta the ESE @ 15-20knot. Straight off-shore between Legian and Uluwatu. Kuta Reef had some 2-3 footers peeling along the reef, looking pretty good except for the strong off-shore wind. There was also no shortage of surfers arriving non stop either. Middle Reef was doing slightly better size wise with a more consistent 3-4ft+ of swell, Middle’s will be the spot as the tide starts to run out mid to late morning. Airport Left was breaking the best outta the big 3 this morning with a consistent 2-4ft (over head sets), plenty of surfers were out there into it as well. I dunno but it seems like all of a sudden since last Saturday there’s been a solid influx of new arrivals in the Kuta / Tuban area. And I’m happy to say that the majority are dollar spending Aussie’s ! Weather wise it’s been raining all through the early A.M. and was still drizzling when I was down there. Still plenty of cloud over head but the way that wind is howling hopefully we shouldn’t see to much rain for the remainder of the day. As soon as the coast is clear I’m heading for Uluwatu to get ya’s some new photos. No sign of Dan (K.B.R.C) and his photos for us last night so ya’s are gunna have to wait till I get home from Ulu. On the dollar changing scene on the streets of Tuban you’ll find that: –1AU$=Rp7,575 –1US$=Rp8,995 — Ok folks the time has just gone 7.25am over here, I’m gunna make another quick cuppa and check the equipment then hit the road. Have a good one what eva ya got on today and I’ll see ya’s after lunch with the gospel on Uluwatu . I also gotta say thank you for all the super positive emails that have been flowing into my inbox. Just wait till ya’s see the new baliwaves.com website we’ve been working on !!!
