MIDDAY SURF UP-DATE **** Howdy crew and welcome to the weekend on baliwaves.com ! Well I started the day off with a 6.00am surf check of the Outer Reefs here in Tuban. Just incase something freakish had taken place. But nope, not a real lot happening wave wise between Kuta Reef and Airport Left . Wave height was back down in the 1-2ft range maybe the odd bigger one at Middle Reef , but not many. Even so there were plenty of surfers out there having a go. I grabbed the video gear and jumped on my bike for Uluwatu . I was on the scene by 8.30am just as the tide was starting to fill in for a 2.4mtr New Moon high tide . Wave height was still doing ok down at Uluwatu with the occasional 4 footer hitting the Main Peak and Temple sections . First up surfing conditions were clean and glassy then around 10.00am the wind started to blow outta the NNW taking some of the gloss off the waves. But by midday she was back around to the ESE-SE and clean off-shore once again. I counted around 80+ surfers in the water, spread out from Temple’s to the Racetrack . No local surfers bothered to venture out so that’s kinda an indicator of how it really was today. These current images are just frame grabs from the video I was shooting but I don’t think you’ll be seeing any of the footage some how.. Weather wise it’s been basically hot and sunny with tonne’s of blue sky. I’m thinking tomorrow wave height is gunna be degenerating even further so I might fuel up the boat tank and see what’s biting. I’ll give ya’s the run down before I do though. Ok then enjoy ya weekend and stay tuned to the baliwaves.com Don’t forget to have a flick through the Mentawai Surf Report / The Super Bank Surf Report or Pierre’s Readers Report . Catch ya’s later.
