AFTERNOON UP-DATE **** Hello again crew and time for a take on how things have panned out surf wise here in Bali today. Well there was plenty of swell hitting Uluwatu by the time we made it down there at 9.30am, and just as the tide was hitting the top of the tide. The Main Peak was breaking at a solid 5ft with the occasional bigger set wave every now and again. Unfortunately the wind remained light on-shore coming outta the N-NW @ 3-5knot . But surfing conditions were basically still clean and smooth. By the time we were packing up the camera gear @ 12.30pm there was a total of 40 surfers spread out from the Main Peak down through the Racetrack . And just as we were walking away from it all the Tradewind finally kicked in outta the ESE-SE blowing straight off-shore. These current photos were taken by my local photographer friend “Hendra”. I was shooting digital video and I’ll have a couple of New Video Clips for ya later this afternoon featuring surfing by local surfers “Bol” and “Garut” . Enjoy the show and I’ll be back with more of the latest Bali surf and weather info again first thing tomorrow morning.
MORNING SURF UP-DATE **** Good morning reef riders and thanks for stopping in for the run down on todays surf and weather conditions here in Bali . Things are getting back to normal for me again so I was down checking out the waves at 6.30am , and wave height has made a solid jump overnight. So this morning there’s plenty of waves coming through on the Outer Reefs ranging between 3-5ft (up to double head high) The tide is still running in for a Full Moon High of 2.2mtrs @ 10.00am but the wind was coming outta the North and cross-shore @ 2-6knot . So when the Tradewind kicks in we should have some good surf going down from Kuta Reef all the way down to Uluwatu. Kuta Reef was picking up 2-3ft+ lines and there were a few surfers already out there on the dawny. But it was still looking a bit bumpy from the lack of off-shore wind. Middle Reef was smoking through set waves in the 5 foot class and there were also a few takers out there. Airport Left already had a few reef taxi’s parked in the channel but a touch smaller than KR, more like shoulder to head high .I’m just waiting for the wind to swing off-shore and then I’ll more than likely be heading south for Uluwatu with the Cannon XL2 video camera to see what’s cooking. Weather wise we’ve got a fair bit of cloud cover for starters but hopefully when the Tradewind kicks in we’ll see some blue sky. I also heard there’s a pretty big turn out of Pro surfers over at Lakey Peak at the moment with Irons, Burrows and a whole heap of other crew. So they should be enjoying plenty of waves over there today as well. Ok then hook in and get some work done and call by later this afternoon cause we’ll have some more Bali waves for ya’s ta check out. And don’t forget if your coming over here to Bali ya can always find Slim down at the “Dewi Sri” Live Seafood Restaurant on Jalan Kartika Plaza here in Tuban between the hours of 7.00 – 9.00pm any night of the week.
