Bali Surf Report – September 10 2007

****MIDDAY SURF UP-DATE**** Sorry this is coming to ya’s a bit late crew but I’v e been goofing off out at Kuta Reef again. Wave height is still hanging in there today at 3-5ft+ between Kuta Reef and Airport Left / Right . My first surf check was at 7.00am as the tide was still running up for a 2.1mtr High set for 9.00am . The wind was still light on-shore coming outta the NW @ 1-3knot but surfing conditions were still clean and glassy. Kuta Reef was peeling off at 3-5ft but with a solid crowd of 30 surfers in the line-up. Middle Reef was a still a bit lumpy but thumping through consistent waves upta double head high plus . Airport Left wasn’t really coping with the size and breaking more on the end section only. I waited till around 9.00am to give the Tradewind a chance to kick in before hitting KR and shortly after 9.30am it started blowing ESE @ 4-8knot , straight off-shore between Legian and Uluwatu. Kuta Reef was freaking perfect I have ta say, real consistent with some double head high set waves pouring through. I also had some sms surf reports from some other locations and all were real positive. G-Land according to JR is pumping at double head high plus from Moneytree’s going way down the line. Medewi according to Troy (baliwaves.com) was peeling off for a good 200yrds+ when he hit it at first light with a clean off-shore wind through until 10.00am. There were 25 surfers in the water by the time he called it a day at 9.00am. He also drove by Balian and said there was only one surfer in the water there. By that time the wind had swung cross-on-shore but there were still some nice right handers peeling through. Weather wise around here in Tuban it’s warming right up with the temperature around the 31 degree Celsius mark (12.30pm). The water temp has also started to warm up, this morning it woulda been around 23 degree’s Celsius . Ok these current photos were shot down at Bingin yesterday afternoon through the lower end of the tide by my good friend Scott Thompson.
