The Rip Curl GromSearch Series 2009 is Coming to Your Island!

Rip Curl’s GromSearch Series 2009 is kicking off this Sunday, February 8th in Kuta on the island of Lombok.  So get ready and join in the fun to see who will be the winner of a trip to Bali to surf in the GromSearch National Final that will take place in Bali in October.

The Rip Curl GromSearch Series 2009 will be going to the best surf spots in Indonesia to look for the best grommets in Indonesia!  So all you young surfers get your bodies and brains fit and ready to compete for the ultimate prize of a Ticket to Australia!

There are two categories of competition in each local event, Under 14 years of age and Under 16 years of age.  These divisions are open to both boys and girls.

The winner and the runner up in the Under 16 division at each GromSearch event will be flown to Bali to compete in the Rip Curl GromSearch National Final in October, as well to participate in the Rip Curl National Training camp before the event.  Two wildcard entries will also be available for the national final and the training camp.

The winner of the Indonesian GromSearch National Final will receive a Ticket to Australia to compete with other GromSearch National Final winners at the world famous Bells Beach in Australia.  A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!

The Rip Curl GromSearch Series 2009 is sanctioned by the Coca-Cola ISC (Indonesian Surfing Championship) Tour; so all contestants will receive ISC Junior Division points at each event. The Under 16 surfer with the most points at the end of the year will become the Indonesian Junior Champion of 2009.

The Rip Curl GromSearch Series 2009 is supported by Fren, Skull Candy, Eat Sleep Surf (ESS) , Light Surfboards, GUS, Trax Magazine, SurfTime Magazine, and the Coca-Cola ISC Tour.

Rip Curl Gromsearch Series 2009 untuk seri pertamanya siap akan gulirkan di Kuta-Lombok pada Minggu 8 February ini. So.. siap-siap aja kita saksikan jagoan-jagoan kecil dari pulau Lombok dimana pemenangnya akan diterbangkan ke Bali utk mengikuti National Final pada bulan Oktober 2009 nanti.

Rip Curl GromSearch Series 2009 ini akan lebih banyak serinya! Kali ini Rip Curl kembali menjelajahi surf spot terbaik yang ada di kepulauan Indonesia untuk mengembangkan kemampuan para surfer muda (grommets). Siapkan fisik dan mental untuk mengikuti kompetisi surfing ini dan berjuang untuk mendapatkan Ticket to Australia!

Under 14th (U-14) dan Under 16th (U-16) adalah divisi yang terbuka bagi surfer muda cowo’ maupun cewe’ lokal untuk menaklukan ombak dan mendapatkan poin untuk menjadi juara lokal, Nasional sampai Internasional!

Juara 1 dan 2 untuk kategori U-16 akan diterbangkan ke Bali untuk mengikuti Rip Curl GromSearch National Final 2009 serta mengikuti National Training Camp selama beberapa hari, guna memberikan pelatihan  sebelum mereka  bertanding di Final.

Sang juara di GromSearch National Final akan mendapatkan Ticket to Australia untuk mewakili Indonesia dan berkompetisi dengan surfer muda terbaik dari seluruh dunia di Bells Beach – Australia.
