23rd – 24th March 09
Hi folks and welcomeback to the baliwaves.com for the latest info on surfing and weather conditions here on the happy little holiday island of Bali.
Firstly I have to apologize on behalf of my internet provider for not providing us with any internet conection (IM2… dont go there). It’s been bugging out over the last couple of weeks and now at a stage where it’s impossible to do anything on the net, stressful to say the least.
Anyway.. yesterday the 23rd and my first surf recon of the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was showing wave height hanging in there in the 2-3ft+ range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. At the time (7.45Am) the wind was light on-shore out of the NW @ 2-4knot. But there was plenty of waves breaking on all 3 sections. Then around 9.00Am the wind swung around to the ESE and it was on. I took the liberty of sampling a few waves out on Kuta Reef and it wasn’t too bad at all with wave height in the shoulder to head high plus class. Middle Reef was still delivering 3-4ft with the occassional bigger set and down on Airport Left there were waist to head waves.
This morning the 24th and at 7.00Am wave height on the Outers has backed off into the 1-2ft+ range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left with the wind blowing on-shore out of the NW @ 2-4knot. Maybe as the day progresses we’ll see the wind swing to the ESE quadrant and cleaner surfing conditions. I also had a sms surf report from G-land where wave height is in the solid 4ft (head to head high plus) range. Clean and glassy surfing conditions with the wind expected to swing off-shore.
Tidal info, we have a 2.0mtr High tide coming on at 10.00Am and then a 0.7mtr Low around 4.00Pm.
Weather wise today we have another classic beach day coming on for everyone here on holidays with an expected top temperature in the mid 30’s Celsius.
Ok crew, I’ve got some running around to do this morning, trying to hook up a new internet connection and secondly trying to find a new laptop that I can afford to buy… So have a good one and as soon as I can overcome these couple of hurdle’s we’ll be back in action.
Slim

Today at Serangan waves were well over head with occasional set 1 1/2 over head… About 20 guys in the water at 09:00 am!!! No wind at all till 11:00… about 35 guys when we left and still more coming on the way!
Hope to see you tomorrow.
