****MORNING SURF UP-DATE****
Hello everyone tuning into the baliwaves.com today ! Ok yep, I’m finally back in Bali after spending the last 4 days isolated in G-land. But I’m pretty sure the majority of you already new I was heading on a off-island mission. I did notice a couple of seedy, me, me, me type comments posted while I was away and it’s those type of people I wish I could impose a viewing few to this website after 11 years of non stop FREE surf reports, photos & video clips.
Anyway for starters G-Land was cranking (a bit too big for the crew that was in camp for the first couple of days) but here’s a few photos from the last couple of days. I’ll get a full report up as soon as I get back on top of everything, plus there will be a video clip or two. Just for now there was a total of 15 surfers in G-land over the last 4 days, as of today there is 1 lone surfer still in camp.
This mornings surf recon of the Outer Reefs here in Tuban was looking very ordinary. Wave height was breaking in the 1-2ft range between Kuta Reef and Airport left with the wind on-shore out of the WNW @ 7-11knot.
Tidal information for today; the first of our tides will be a 0.4mtr Low @ 7.00Am and then she’ll be running back in for a 2.4mtr High @ 1.00Pm
Looking for a wave I’d say your going to find the cleanest surfing conditions over on the East Coast between Nusa Dua and Keramas.
Weather wise it started raining early this morning around 2.00Am and has only now just let up at 10.00Am. So there’s a big chance of more rain to come, or at least cloudy and grey for the remainder of today
Ok crew, hang in there I’ve got a tonne of stuff to get through after 4 days away from Home Base, not too mention around 80 emails queries but I’ll be back again soon enough !

Hi, im thinking about going to g-land, but i don’t have a board bigger than 6’4. is it possible to rent a board at g-land (say 6’8 to 7’0) in case the surf big?? if so, how much would it cost???
cheers
drew says
if you don’t own a board bigger than 6’4 you have no business going to g-land stick to kuta beach or belangan with the rest of the euro kooks

Mate, how good is it to go there when the crowds are none.. Ya lucky crumpet..Going there soon in 3 short weeks and can’t wait…. Shitting me pants after seeing that line up shot.. Hope me 7’4″ is big enough??? Hee-Haw!!!

G-land its insane to just even be there in the jungle let alone to have that kind of wave right on your back door. Early and late season is the time to be there with no crowds / pro’s or would be pro’s in the line-up. When we left on the 16th there was only 1 other surfer left in camp and he was only interested in 20 / 20’s. More SE-ESE off-shore wind expected today…..

Hey just read in the latest indo coastalwatch swell journal that bikes/scooters with surfboard racks attached have been outlawed, and im heading over in a couple of weeks so just curious what the deal is here and/or how 2 get around the place now,-is the car the only way or are the scooters still ok 2 use,any info on this would be much appreciated cheers.

Hey Matt,
I read the same thing but i just got back last week from Bali and i rode my scooter everywhere. I wouldnt worry bout it. Just slip 20,000 in ya international drivers licence and you will be sweet.

One should check out other options when g-land is too big, too small, too crowded or wonky swell and wind prevail.. Lots of good beachies way past tiger tracks are there for the lucky ones that have the time, energy and positive vibes to search these gems… HeeHaw!!!
