****AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE****
****no internet service on the 11th…..****
Howdy crew and thanks for taking the time out to drop into the baliwaves.com for the latest on whats been happening surfing and weather wise here on the very happy little holiday island of Bali.
And happy we are today. This mornings surf recon of the Outer reefs was showing a definate increase in wave height with 2-3 footers breaking between Kuta Reef and Airport left. But I didn’t see anyone out there at the time. But we had Uluwatu on our agenda today and thats where these current photo were shot.
Apon arrival at Ulu wave height was still only showing in the 2-3ft range but as the tide pushed further in towards the top of the tide wave height started to push the 3-4ft+ range. Surfing conditions were clean and smooth with the wind predominately coming out of the East up to 10knot in strength. The Main Peak was producing some nice tube rides but I have to admit it was a bit of a circus down there today and a lot of the *surfers that were in the water should have been learning to surf along the beach breaks. My crowd count went past 80 surfers spread out between the Main Peak and Temple sections. Temple’s by the way was also producing some long walls and round barrels for the 20+ crew riding down there.
Riding home past Padang padang and Impossible’s there were a few 2-3ft lines peeling down the reef towards Bingin but noting breaking on Padang Padang. And I’m sure Balangan would have also had some waves in the 2-3ft+ range as well.
Weather wise we started the day off here in Tuban with some light showers before the Tradewind started up and cleared things up. But then while I was down at Uluwatu we had some heavy showers again around 10.00am. Currently now at 1.30pm it’s back to blue sky and sunshine.
More to come dept; I also managed to shoot another batch of photos for the bodyboarder crew and I’ll get them on-line later this afternoon. Scotto was also in the water shooting down at Uluwatu and You’ll find his work in our Readers Report page when he delivers them. No long boarders at Uluwatu today.
Ok folks thats it for now but stay tuned cause it ain’t over till the fat lady sings !
Best Regards from Bali
Slim
Stop putting Temples on the Internet. Why WTF.. B4 was few crew..
Gogma….. dude come on Temple’s has been surfed for over 30yrs now, dont tell me you’ve just discovered it ? come on man, it’s written into every surf guide book ever published. I hope you’ve written them all letters as well expressing your grief, have ya ?? But no hard feelings Gogma, ya just gotta except how popular this sport called surfing is, seems like everyone wants to be a surfer these days….
