****MORNING SURF UP-DATE****
Good morning folks and welcome back to your baliwaves.com for the latest news on surfing and weather conditions here on your one stop thats got it all surfing holiday destination of Bali Thanks to Hendra and his photographic team down at Uluwatu for this current batch of photos of Uluwatu yesterday.
Well first off the swell that the charts have been promising to arrive yesterday just never lived up to everyone’s expectations again. It wasn’t until late yesterday afternoon that wave height actually started to show some promise with Middle Reef producing the occassional double head high set wave. So I think everyone had high hopes for some big stuff this morning. But… not too be, wave height this morning on the Outer Reefs is still only showing in the 3-4ft+ range between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Kuta Reef with the in coming tide is starting to peel off some nice shaped waves in the chest to head high plus range. But at 7.30am there would have already been 30-40 surfers out there. Middle Reef was still picking up the occassional double head high set wave and there were quite a few surfers out there as well. Airport left wasn’t faring as well as Kuta Reef with wave height more in the waist to head high class. You can also tell just by looking at these latest photos that Hendra captured for us down at Uluwatu yesterday that there wasn’t any 10 footers happening.
Surfing conditions this morning are much cleaner than yesterday with the ESE-SE Tradewind a little more sedate @ 8-10knot. Clean off-shore wind from Kuta all the way down to Uluwatu.
Tidal info for today is saying we’ll have a 2.4mtr High @ 11.00am and then another reef exposing 0.1mtr Low around 6.00pm.
Looking for a wave today, anywhere from Kuta Reef down to Uluwatu is where the focus will be. Bingin would have been barreling off first thing this morning while the tide started to fill in. Balangan will be worth a look around mid morning. And Uluwatu for the more experienced surfers… There might have even been a few small waves at Padang Padang for the bodyboarders early this morning.
Weather wise we’ve had some pretty crook weather over the last few days and this morning it’s no different. Heavy rain fell through the early hours of the morning and even now at 9.30am the sky is still a dark grey. Not normal at all for this time of the year for Bali’s “Dry Season”.
G-land; Ok the 10% discount for the early bookings into the G-Land Surf Camp has finished but I’ve spoken with the boss and he’s still prepared to give anyone who mentions baliwaves.com a 5% discount on standard, twin share and fan bungalows and a 10% discount on their air conditioned bungalows. Just mention baliwaves.com at their office and you’ll get money back in your pocket.
And don’t forget to drop me a line if your looking for some surfer friendly accommodation here in Tuban / Bali (the quiter end of town). Right here at Home Base we have single rooms for US$15.00, US$18.00 for couple’s & US$25.00 for a twin share room. All rooms have Air conditioning, hot and cold water, tv, refridgerator and large private bathroom. 300mtrs back from the beach in fron of the Outer reefs here in Tuban.
Ok crew I’ve noticed there’s another surf report from the Macaroni Surf Resort in my “in-box” so I’ll get that on-line for ya’s a bit later today. yesterday I loaded another report and a couple of photos from the Kandui Surf Resort. I’ve also got some new fishing photos and a bit of a run down on whats been happening on the sport fishing scene over the last week. Hendra will have more photos from Uluwatu coming our way later this evening, so don’t stray too far form the baliwaves.com if you’ve got Bali on your mind.
Back with more real soon !
