****MIDDAY SURF UP-DATE****
Hello surfers and welcome back to your baliwaves.com for the latest news on todays surfing and weather conditions here on the happy little holiday island of Bali. I’ve decided to run the Padang Padang photos again today because they are pretty good arn’t they ! But our friends from Hendra Surf Photography have also sent us through some new photos taken down at Uluwatu yesterday so I’ll load those into the Readers Report section, just to keep it fresh.
I’d also like to give Pat and Brian from www.eventpowerandlight.com.au a huge thank you for there exceptional help for me to be able to purchase a new lap top so these reports can keep flowing. This couple of everyday Aussies not only helped me while they were in Bali but also helped a young Balinese surfer start his own life by helping him to buy his own double outrigger boat and motor becoming his own master in life. Then they backed that straight up by sponsoring another young Balinese student to help his struggling mother who was battling to keep up with his school fee’s. So if your in Australia and you need portable power and light for an event contact Pat and Brian.
Ok this mornings 6.45am surf check on the Outer reefs here in Tuban was showing wave height to have backed off but still looking fun in the chest to head high plus range between Kuta Reef and Airport left. At the time surfing conditions were pert near perfect with the wind blowing off-shore @ 5-8knot. But now at midday is gusting up to 12-15knot+ and tending a little more to the SE-SSE. The crew staying with us here at Home Base opted for Airport left and all the lads agree’d it was preety good with head high plus sets, and around 25 surfers in the line-up. Kuta Reef always looks best to me and was breaking in the waist to chest high plus sector but slightly more crowded with around 25-30 surfers. The tide was a bit too full for Middle Reef but by now should be the best option for a paddle on the Outer Reefs
Tidal info for today is saying we had a 2.0mtr High @ 8.00am and then running out for a 0.5mtr Low @ 3.00pm
Weather wise here in Bali today we started off with a bit of cloud cover but by late morning the sun had powered up for another hot and sunny day on the holiday island.
Sms surf report from the G-land Surf Camp was calling wave height to be holding in the 5-6ft range and shaping up for some perfect waves on Money Tree’s through to the launching Pad. I’ll be calling into their office later this afternoon and fingers crossed they will have some photos for us to load up.
Swell prediction, Wave height will be backing off over the next few days but still plenty on offer depending on location. Hold onto your hats come the 21st for another solid swell to grace our reefs.
Hey and don’t forget to check out our random ravings on twitter !!!
Ok crew that’s about me for now I’ve still got a lot stuff to do get this new machine fully cranking. But feel free to drop me an email if you want to stay with us here at Home Base (Tuban) on your next visit to Bali. If you want to get out for some Balinese Sport Fishing, or for info in general and I’ll do my best to help ya out.
Best Regards from Bali
