****AFTERNOON SURF UP-DATE****
Hello crew and thanks oifr waiting around for me to get back to Home Base after spending the morning sitting on a ledge over looking Padang Padang.
I was a little confused this morning on whether or not to make the trek down to the Bukit or not. As this mornings surf recon of the Outer reefs was showing that wave height was still holding in the 4-6ft range (over head to tripple head high). It was the Low tide factor that ending up deciding for me. It would probably be pretty good out at Kuta Reef around late afternoon when the tide fills back in.
I never made to Padang Padang until around 9.45AM to find surfing conditions were faultless with the wind blowing straight off-shore out of the ESE. Before the tide started to fill back in there were some solid tube rides going down. But it was also in the mediocre class, with only the occassional 6ft sets. So there were an equal number of both surfer and bodyboarder, around 60 in total. I’m also hoping that today was just a warm up day for Padang Padang and that tomorrow see’s her firing on all 12 cylinders.
Just for the record, Tidal info for today was calling for a 0.6mtr Low @ 9.00 and then a 1.5mtr High @ 3.00PM.
I also managed to shoot around 10 minutes of digital video while I was there this morning and I’ll get that cut, edited and on-line for ya’s as soon as I can.
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Kuta you’ll find that — 1AU$=Rp8,450 — 1US$=Rp9.950 —
Swell Forecast, Ok so really the charts are still saying that everything is still on track and pretty soon it’s going to be over sized. Starting off sometime in the next 12hrs. Wave height should make a pretty sharp jump in size into the 14ft face class. Then through Friday back off into the 12-11ft (face) range. Then Saturday see’s wave height smacking us in the face with up to 20ft+ face’s. Then wait for it, Sunday going off the richter scale with up to 25ft+ wave height. This mother should hold through Monday before easing back into the 14-11ft range Tuesday then she’s just about gone on Wednesday. Further out on the edge of the radar there could be another smaller system ready to move in.
If it’s clean safe and friendly accommodation here in Tuban only 300mtrs back from the Outer Reefs, including A/C, hot water, refridgerator & TV for US$15.00 per night (single) or US$18.00 for a couple and US$25.00 twin share. Then drop me an email but usually we do need a few weeks notice.
G-Land we are offering you a 5% discount on all standard packages and 10% on air conditioned packages at the G-Land Surf Camp. And from all report’s I’ve heard of late, right now is an ideal time to get over there and score some un-crowded waves

Hey there Slim. Classic Padang Padang. How would you call it, triple overhead face? If you make it today give us a wider shot of the whole wave. PP is my favorite wave. Unfortunately, when she fires it is the favorite of many others too. Ah well, so it goes!!!
