****MORNING SURF UP-DATE****
Hello surfers and welcome back to the baliwaves.com to see whats been happening surf and weather wise here on the ever popular surfing holiday destination of Bali. And there’s no better way than doing that than having a flick through these latest photos Hendra Surf Photography have delivered.
Just for the record I did get a quick look at the waves yesterday morning around the 6.00 – 6.30AM mark. The tide was super low and 80% of the reef exposed between Kuta Reef and Airport left. But still just enough water for the small channel that the experienced boat drivers can navigate, and just enough for Middle Reef. There were some nice and clean waves peeling off for a good 40yrds+ in the chest to head high range.
This morning the 8th and it’s pretty much the same scenario with the 0.1mtr Low tide we had at 7.00AM. Way too shallow for Kuta Reef or Airport Left, but once again there were more of those clean little head high waves breaking on Middle Reef. At the time (6.30AM) there were 2 surfers on Middle Reef. So this morning the better waves will be found on the reefs that favour the lower end of the tide. Middle Reef, Bingin and the Racetrack section of Uluwatu, are typical example’s.
Surfing conditions were clean and glassy, with the wind coming lightly out of the N-NW and may even swing further around to the SSW by afternoon.
Tidal info has the next tide a 20mtr High @ 1.00PM
Weather wise there’s some cloud around this morning but hopefully we’ll see some blue sky through out the day.
Today’s sms surf report from the G-Land Surf Camp was saying that wave height has hit the double to double head high plus sector this morning. As soon as the tide starts to fill back in there will be plenty of waves at Kongs and Moneytree’s. Surfing conditions were clean and glassy, no surfers in the water at the time of the report. New Photos from G-Land have just arrived and I’ll head into the office and pick those up later in the day. So keep an eye out for those.
If it’s clean safe and friendly accommodation here in Tuban only 300mtrs back from the Outer Reefs, including A/C, hot water, refridgerator & TV for US$15.00 (Rp150,000) per night (single) or US$18.00 (Rp180,000) for a couple and US$25.00 (Rp250,000) twin share. Then drop me an email but usually we do need a few weeks notice.
G-Land we are offering you a 5% discount on all standard packages and 10% on air conditioned packages at the G-Land Surf Camp. And from all report’s I’ve heard of late, right now is an ideal time to get over there and score some un-crowded waves
We are also now sending out brief random surf reports and ravings through Twitter mobile phone service so sign up today !
Best Regards from Bali
