****AFTERNOON SURF UP DATE****
Howdy folks and thanks for stopping by the baliwaves.com (’99) again for today’s latest news on surfing and weather conditions from here in the real surfers paradise of Bali.
More crap weather to start off the day over here, well I mean rain really. Wind wise we had a nice strong Westerly blowing straight off shore over at Serangan on Bali’s East Coast. We turned up around the 7.45AM mark to find wave height screaming through in the head to tripple head high plus range. Strangely enough there were only a handful of surfers already in the water while the tide was bottoming out on the Low.
As the tide started to move back in that’s when we started to see some bigger bomb sets rolling through. The right hander in the middle as usual was lining up real nice turning the some time sedate and (surf school) friendly waves into a more classy and selective wave. More surfers started to turn up as the tide pushed higher but around the same time a south west rain squall blew through. Putting some cross shore wind into the equation.
Anyway you guys and gals have already seen the photos I snapped, right. It looks like we should get at least another day out of this swell so make sure you call in again tomorrow arvo to see what’s happening here in Bali.
Weather wise it’s been raining on and off all day and still is now at 3.30PM. Temperature wise a cool 26 degree’s Celsius (out of the rain).
Changing dollars to Rupiah on the streets of Kuta you’ll find that — 1AU$=Rp8,885 — 1US$=Rp8,810 — rates will vary from vendor to vendor of course.

Night club danger; New’s came through to me of an Australian having the shit kicked out of him by no less than 6 security staff in a Kuta night club on Friday night. Apparantly the English owners of the bar gave the order to the security staff…. Caruso’s, Cruso’s, (some name like that anyway) Bar in Kuta.
Best Regards in Surfing

Come on Ryan. W. your kiding me…. did you see pic # 8 ?????? I was being lenient calling tripple head high. I’m old school on my wave calls, that’s what you get from learning to surf in the late 60’s……… LOL
ryan says
in the 60’s……i’m sure you were seeing more than double in those days !! double overhead that is, not double visions. or was that in the 70’s!! haha
