**** LATE (a bit) SURF UP DATE****
Hi folks and thanks again for calling by the baliwaves (’99) for the latest on surfing and weather conditions from here on the No.1 tropical surfing holiday destination of Bali.
We had a pretty huge and aventful type of day yesterday so I didn’t really get a chance to get this report up on line for ya’s. But what w did was loaded up the wheels and hit the highway (4.30AM) for Balian and Medewi up along Bali’s far West Coast. Arriving at Balian (after being run off the road by trucks and buses at least 5 times) to find that the wind had swung back to the SE and blowing out the 3-4ft+ waves that were on offer.
So we jumped back in the car and headed for Medewi, another half an hour further up the road. The wind was also on shore there but a little more protected with wave height in the 2-3ft range. So the boys jumped in for a refresher and there was some fun little waves peeling off the usually long and perfect left hander. Then after a late breakfast we headed back south for the 3 hour drive home to Tuban.
Then arriving home to find that my assistant and good friend Ketut Pica had been an inocent victim of a motor cycle accident. Ketut is ok but a little bruised, grazed and sad. So I spent the rest of the afternoon doctoring him up, my brand new bike (still paying it off) wasn’t looking the best either… But the main thing, Ketut is ok.
Checking out the surf here on the Outer Reefs just before dark to find that it was pretty well flat between Kuta Reef and Airports. So maybe we did make the right choice after all by heading up the coast.
I’ll get the photos from Medewi loaded up for you this afternoon. In the mean time we have another photo gallery loaded into our Readers Report from our good friends down at ESP located in “Julies Warung”, Bingin. So hang in there and when we get todays surf searching mission completed I’ll have whole lot more for ya’s.
