****AFTERNOON SURF UP DATE****
Howdy folks and welcome bact to the baliwaves ’99 for today’s news on surfing and weather conditions from here on the friendly little tropical holiday island of Bali.
This mornings 6.15AM surf check on the Outer Reefs of Tuban was looking as to be expected, grim. Only just breaking in the 1-1ft+ sector between Kuta Reef and Airport Left. Surfing conditions at the time were clean and glassy. But we had already made a plan of attack so it wasn’t much longer after that, that we were on our way to see if there was anything better happening at Keramas.
Even Keremas was humbled by today’s small waves, but still I think we did pretty well getting some fun sized waves in. As it shows in today’s photo gallery wave height was averaging in the waist to chest high region with the occassional bigger set wave. Surfing conditions were clean and glassy through until around 9.00AM when the wind turned light on shore from the SE (East Coast). The lowest number of surfers in the water was 5 and the maximum was 13.
Tidal information for today had us down for a 1.8mtr High @ 8.00AM and then running out for a 0.6mtr Low around 2.00PM.
Weather wise another damn hot and sunny day. Even now at 4.15Pm the outside temperature is a sultry 31 degree’s Celsius, summer is coming on. Low Humidity of 34% and another big chance of some more heavy rain again later tonight. Wind direction is coming out of the SE @ 12-14knt+. Sunrise @ 5.53AM and Sunset @ 6.14PM.
I’ve finally got a few minutes to load you up with another photo installment of Padang Padang from our friends at Hendra Surf Photography located at Uluwatu. They are going into our Readers Report page I suppose. Also another batch of photos from the Kandui Surf Resort way up in the Mentawai Islands to get up on there page
Today’s G-land Surf Report from the G-Land Surf Camp was calling good clean waves in the shoulder to head high with the odd bigger set, breaking from the bottom of Kongs and down through Money Tree’s. Now I’m sure that G-Land would be the place to be hanging out while the waves are down. Clean off shore wind and hardly any surfers, sounds good. Check it out at www.g-landsurfcamp.com
